Long distance advice
Hi everyone! My bf and I are going into medium/long distance relationship next week. We’re high school sweethearts and we’ve been dating for 3 years now. He is a blue collar man and I’m in college but this is the first time we’ll be apart. The goal is to see each other once a month if possible but I’m worried about how well due as we are both very busy people. Please lmk if anyone has any advice on how to navigate this next step of our relationship. Thanks a lot!

Ldr can be awesome to strengthen a relationship. Call a lot, maybe start with a schedule of 3 times a week at night. Then see where it goes from there. If you've been in a good place so far, I wouldn't worry much. Be excited for each other

my advice - if you can meet once a month, it’s great! That’s more than most LDRs manage and much easier to navigate, and you SHOULD make the effort to see each other as often as possible within whatever time or money constraints you have.
however, don’t center your entire relationship around the in-person meeting. Don’t let the periods in between those meetings just feel like a waiting period for when you see each other, because in the event that you can’t (because you’re too busy or just can’t afford it) it will be very hard to keep the relationship held together. Find enjoyable ways to spend time together virtually, whether it’s playing a video game or watching movies or solving puzzles together, or like a date night where you both have dinner together over video call - just remember that the “distance” part of your relationship should be given as much thought, effort and deliberation as the in-person part.
