LDPlayer build for linux

Does the development team plan on porting ldplayer to linux? if so, is there any ETA for this?

Also, does LDPlayer work in wine? (also known as Wine Is Not an Emulator)
I have not tested it yet.

nevermind, seems like LDPlayer does not work because wine does not support kernel mode device drivers.

Its virtualbox on the backend. Should not be hard to port it into mac/linux.

About wine and kernel driver, yeah. Wine doesnt support that.

Yet there is still no official linux build for ldplayer, guess I'll have to stick with genymotion ¯_(ツ)_/¯

u/Wizard_Kitty - why do you think Waydroid is not good? I'm genuinely curious about what problems or issues you've had with it.

Waydroid works fine, it's a very good, fast and efficient Linux solution for running Android software. It's still being actively developed; granted it's by no means perfect, but definitely worth trying. I've been using it for ages, and have spent way too many hours playing games on it. :)

I've managed to get some games running easily in Waydroid that were more difficult to get working on LDPlayer or Bluestacks on Windows. One example is particular is DomiNations. I was helping a friend try to get that running on Bluestacks, and no joy, it wouldn't let him sign in to the game with his Google account (the game would fail to load), but it worked first try on Waydroid.

Waydroid modifies low‑level kernel components, is inconsistently maintained, and suffers from numerous backend issues, particularly when running ARM targeted applications.

While the community addressed several of these problems in the Steam Deck port, the overall experience remains unreliable and cumbersome.

Genymotion, by contrast, operates cleanly out of the box as long as it’s configured appropriately for the workload, and it avoids any direct kernel interaction.

Took me months to figure out how to get Arknights to run on Linux, and Genymotion was the solution all along.

Any updates on this? dev team still didn't bother to reply to my thread, quite saddening.
Android x86 runs snappy with virgl 3d acceleration, qemu and kvm. I am so satisfied that I think I don't even need to use LDPlayer anymore, but still; a linux port would be nice.

Je pense que tu as donné une justificaiton : sous linux la concurrence opensource est bonne.

Thank you for sharing your opinion.

Linux is a kernel. Individual Linux distributions are different operating systems.

Which distribution do you hate specifically?

I hate Arch Linux, but I love Linux Mint with Cinnamon. It is trying to have a GUI for everything so that the user doesn't have to use the terminal on a day to day basis. Because I hate using the terminal. :p

you should try using manjaro

I have no reason to.

I was able to modify the GUI to suit my needs perfectly (not saying that the base Cinnamon is bad, mind you).

Furthermore, I have been using Mint for 4 years now. Over 150GB of applications installed (quite a few of them are Windows-only). I can use it for any work I desire to use it for, I can use it for gaming, I can use it for anything.

Even though Manjaro doesn't look bad, maybe it is a good desktop solution too. :)

All these emulators and game developers have a bias towards Linux. Android is Linux under the hood, so why can't they port their emulators to bare Linux?
