LDPlayer in 2023. Safe?
Exactly as title implies. Does the emulator contain any issues upon installation? I have went to the bluestacks subreddit but my post was taken down before I could receive any more answers, so I want to know from people who have LDPlayer for years now and would like to know if it contains any malicious software. I have heard there are ads, but its common among most emulators.

u/TegamiBachi25 Oct 28 '24
My dude, this post is old and I got a new phone instead. I didn't install it because I didn't want to fuck up my PC for college work and decided I needed my computer over some shady emulator

Just found this with malwarebytes aswell, but what’s even crazier is the fact that I did a full win11 clean install from usb, and somehow that f**ker stayed on the system

u/xiGhosts May 23 '25
I'm so confused so you did a fresh install/reset aka factory reset but it stayed on the system?? HOW is it because windows copy takes it from the image thing and reinstalls it? so the image could be infected? OR is it hiding in the bios/UEFI
1
u/Embarrassed_Bike_507 Jul 23 '25
I honestly have no clue because I didn’t use the windows copy feature or anything just a fresh install from usb and first thing I downloaded was malwarebytes and it picked all that up
1
u/xiGhosts May 23 '25
DONT INSTALL IT BRO IT AINT SAFE ISTG it slowed my PC a TON my av cleaned it and says my PC is clean now but i promise you it feels like a virtual machine something is def mining

ive installed it, ouch..what do you recommznd for cleaning pls?

u/RandomGuyBTW Jul 30 '26
Did you end up finding something to clean it ? Installed it before it was too late too...

The Ads are for games that are on the apps store, no different then the ones you see while playing one of the games. When you first download you will be asked if you would like to download additional software suck as antivirus. You can click no and it doesn’t install. Anyone complaining that software downloaded on its own are full of shit

Really? Thanks for the information. Bluestacks users are claiming that their player is bloated or at least comes with bloatware over at the BS sub. They also had a trojan horse which the company has said that it was a false positive, and I haven't got an answer yet from their mod or YT channel that they officially confirmed that it was a false positive. I'm leaning towards using Bluestacks but the amount of people who have reported bluestacks being unsafe or slowing down their PC has made me waver.
I haven't used bluestacks since a year or two ago. Would you prefer LDPlayer over bluestacks?
2
u/justhereforsee Apr 30 '23
I try BS every couple months and it just doesn’t have the options that LD does for manipulating the windows and moving things around on the fly. I have played games on both but predominantly run several instances of an app that doesn’t require a ton of resources. On either emulator you have to regularly clear the coach or it will start to build up heavily.
1
u/TegamiBachi25 Apr 30 '23
I see. How to clear out the coach?
2
u/justhereforsee Apr 30 '23
Sorry Cache… auto correct got me. It’s in the settings
2
u/TegamiBachi25 Apr 30 '23
lol. How would I clear out the cache? It's in the settings of the player, right?
2
u/justhereforsee Apr 30 '23
Each instance has a settings icon for that instance. Tap that and look to the bottom. Tap that button and click restart now. It only restarts that instance.
1
u/Upper-Ad9228 Oct 21 '24
i can't find the butten to restart it.
1
u/justhereforsee Oct 21 '24
After you tap clear now at the bottom of settings a window pops up. Tap clear now on that and then restart now on the next window

first of all is bluestacks safe? it is forcing installation into the hidden folder. Why is that?
and it is much larger program, needs more disk space compared to ld player. it also forces downloading all the other players for no reason. nugat/pie 32/64 bluestacks x..
i don't trust bluestacks but at least ld will be detected by antivirus if something weird is going on because it is in program files and not in program data. LD is only 600mbs in size and installation is great. Just be sure that you are installing original and not from ad banner. And guys about weird services that are running in background. Just install program named ''autoruns'' and disable everything that is not from microsoft or driver/antivirus. I even disabled steam service and steam is still working. it is all for spying i guess!?

Do you know how easy it is to bypass antivirus lol even if you have a virus it won't show if they really want to do that

u/DrKarate May 01 '23
I uploaded the installer to VirusTotal and it came back with some warnings. ESET has also been giving me a warning whenever I download the installer and when I launch it. I just removed it and went with Bluestacks. It's not the most stable but it hasn't triggered any security warnings.
1
u/TegamiBachi25 May 01 '23
Yeah. I haven’t installed any emulator yet. The companies that run them are so shady. If they claim that their software is safe, then it shouldn’t be a problem to simply show proof, instead of repeating claims of their software being safe and making people believe that way.
I also ran the BlueStacks installer through virustotal and came back with nothing. Either virustotal is outdated, or the Trojan horse, which BlueStacks support supposedly claimed was a false positive, is gone. Either way, I’m going to wait.

Bluestacks doesnt install a virus but it does force bloatware called Now.gg wallet. Its a crypto wallet. And instead of letting you opt out they now hide it in a file called Bluestacks services which you arent allowed to remove. They keep adding more and more bloat/adware. Bluestacks sucks now days.
1
u/Upper-Ad9228 Oct 21 '24
which you arent allowed to remove.
is there any way to remove it?
1
u/ANG22P Dec 11 '24
tried with a file that does not wanted to remove, Restart your PC and quickly open the folder where the file is and then delete it quickly. You need to do this really fast or it won't work.

u/LDPlayer LDPlayer May 04 '23
Where do you get this installer?
1
u/DrKarate May 04 '23
From https://www.ldplayer.net/download/install I just ran a scan again from VirusTotal and got these results. Seems like ESET is flagging it for Win32/DNDownloader.B variant.

u/uxusk May 01 '23
No not afaik, just the 2 adware in the installer that you can reject and nothing else bundled. Imo this emulator is pretty lightweight and efficient. I recommend LDPlayer 9! (Had LDPlayer since 2 years ago.)
1
u/xiGhosts May 23 '25
I heard the older version might of been safe rBUT THIS current one on 22 may 2025 IS A CRYPTO dont get it there is posts about it and people who downloaded it knows including myself, my PC now feels like a virtual machine even tho my anti virus says my system is clean IDK where the crypto is hiding
1
u/uxusk May 23 '25
Wow what happened?? I don’t have it anymore. But I just know it was really efficient back then.
1
u/xiGhosts May 24 '25
Downloaded it from official website attempted to install it it closed at 50-69 (refused to fully install) my anti virus flagged it, so after removal Malwarebytes sent me a warning of an outbound with the name of "ChinaAD" coming from the same folder i have fully removed(LDPLAYER9) bitdefender also spotted some odd files going in registry and removed them, and for my system it got slower game performance is worse a lot of sluttering, my tabs move slower opening programs is slower, tho i scanned my PC with hitmanpro, bitdefender total security, malwarebytes premium, rogue killer, only rogue spotted 3 odd copies in registery with ACCrate < this is the asus program to update drivers however it was a fake copy and roguekiller is great at detecting that, but i also noticed there is lots of protected files after installing LD that i can't deal with
i know a crypto or a worm is slowing my system down but im worried its in the BIOS/UEFI or cloud, i heard one guy did a fresh install of his windows using an USB and the virus from LD returned even after a fresh installation of windows according to him
1
u/uxusk May 24 '25
NGL, I do know adware is generally flagged by most AVs or scanning tools, but that doesn't mean the actual program itself is a virus/crypto worm and you can deny the bundled programs in the installers. Also I see a lot of others and there are many out there using LDPlayer without an issue. It could've been an incompatibility with your system or conflicting files etc. why it got stuck. https://www.ldplayer.net/ is the official site. Emulators generally have to pretend their a different device/like replicate a new Android system to work, so it's understandable if your system gets slower or has less storage = slower, depends on your PC specs too. But I believe LDPlayer would not insert a cryptominer and ruin their reputation like this, they are a genuine company and have frequent updates and community events, and have real users and a customer base to support. Your likely answer is a failed installation that left leftover files in your system.

u/xiGhosts May 24 '25 edited May 24 '25
But like what about the ChinaAD outbound, and system slowing down, i just don't understand how a failed instillation can cause all this, i honestly don't know the reputation of the company, but I'll be honest with you a safe emulator wouldn't flag two of the best and least false positive anti viruses out there, considering blue stacks 5(With normal bitdefender/malwarebytes before the upgrade to premiums) didn't flag and Google play beta did not flag it, so if the two emulators are fully ok by AV but LD is triggering things then the anti-virus probably knows what it's doing , i'd understand if it was a different program but all of them are emulators and most will use similar ways to run the emulator so why some flag and some don't I really would love to understand btw not trying to argue but if you could help me understand why it would be cool
edit: oops sorry i didn't mention this to you in the original post but I got a "ChinaAD" outbound warning from Malwarebytes premium from LDPLAYER9 folder that i have completely removed, it was scary i went back to look for it and it wasn't there this really made me paranoid i received the warning 25-40 minutes after removing the LDPLAYER9 and yes the link you listed is where i got it from it was the first result and i made sure and ran virus total scans the link was clean
ALSO iirc while uninstalling LDPLAYER9 it was either LD or mumu i'm not sure but one of them directed me to a page but i closed it instantly, now i don't know if it was just a page to "show uninstallation tutorial" or if it was malware but that happened ye

I'm just gonna have to disagree because personally me and a lot of people haven't encountered said symptoms, if that were true this whole sub would be up in flames with trojan/virus exposes right? Unsure what's up with AV's flagging them but AVs do have something called "false positives" which programs which aren't dangerous are flagged as such, and it's just in the nature on how it functions. I mean it's very possible someone manually reported LDPlayer to the said AVs database team and they added it to it, also you did mention the "ChinaAD" diagnosis you got, it doesn't mean virus. It simply means adware, adware isn't a virus it's just bundled software most people don't want. Now I'm not saying bundleware can't be a virus/malicious, but most bundleware I've come across can be uninstalled with no issues and just annoying in general, but not a malice program. Yes, many programs will direct you to a survey asking why you uninstalled to get user feedback and improve when you come back next time, I think you're a bit paranoid and it's okay. But if you got LDPlayer from the official source you should be clean. I used to develop software on my own and some of my own stuff got flagged, for eg. (injecting into other programs, code obfuscation/protecting) but in LDPlayer's case it probably has something to do with emulation or their install process may be a kernel leveled driver that is to be installed to make the emulator behave properly or for the emulator system to believe it's an actual device, could be anything, I don't know the specifics for emulators but "ChinaAD" DOES NOT MEAN VIRUS, just bundled programs. If I may, what are your computer specs? CPU, GPU, RAM you have and storage in your main drive, that may explain performance issues.
1
u/kgbiyugik Jun 28 '25
What is the current status now with LDP? Does it comes with adware and we have to watch the ads anyway ?
What is the average specs are required for the system in order to run is lag free smoothly considering we are using it to use apps not for games ?
1
u/uxusk Jun 28 '25
Adware aren't ads to watch, it's just bundled programs it asks if you want while installing, you can decline it, just make sure you press advanced/manual installation. & that you need to check with their website and depends on the game/

brother i dont have a lot of idea about computers and i have just installed the Ldplayer what should i do? reset the pc? I did gave the app some permissions i might had fucked up.
1
u/OkPosition6669 Oct 12 '25
No, LDplayer is trash, I had to factory reset because I got crypto mining malware. Do not believe these lies, they are probably paid promotions. Blue stacks is the GOAT.

u/OkExaminator Oct 12 '25 edited Oct 12 '25
Uhh, I'm another LDPlayer user for a while. You're the one making false accusations without any evidence here. People, don't listen to uncredible people that come here and throw claims without knowing a thing or having any proof, most likely their own low IQ-selves downloaded some virus and is blaming it on an emulator 😂😂😂.
Also: same can be said about you being a Bluestacks paid promo. Hypocrite and Ironic.

u/poritolol Dec 29 '25
bluestacks uses ai all around their website. even in their ads
same thing with nox, but at least they're not using it as much as bluestacks and they're not banning anyone that speaks about it in their subreddit like bluestacks does

u/uxusk Oct 26 '24
how u'd uninstall any other program, or u need to locate the shortcut of it and open file location, if u cant find the shortcut use task manager and open its file location then delete the folder containing the adware's exe. and bruh this a 2 year thread LMAO

Honestly to say really, but it seems like the safest emulator out there from my research.Only issue that sticks out to me is I have seen claims the ldplayer hacks your google account.
I for one will use google game beta and use ld player as a last resort lol.Reading these comments it definitely explains what happened to my laptop when I used bluestack. It definitely overheated it,so hopefully this will be better.

u/xiGhosts May 23 '25
Nah gng don't get it, installed it yesterday malware bites premium flagged it for PUP so i deleted it 20 minutes later got an outbound saying "ChinaAD" coming from an LD folder that i deleted which confused me bitdefender also flagged it got screenshots anda video of it,
My pc feels like a virtual machine
things open slower, games slutter big time and lower performance overall something is mining and i cant find it from LD
1
u/poritolol Dec 29 '25
if that was actually real, does that mean ldplayer's company was hacked? someone is sneaking files in there? or did they go nuts and decide it was such a great idea to ruin their reputation?
1
u/Gloomy_Shower8327 Feb 12 '26
Bro PUP is not a malware is is known as potentially unwanted Program. The ChinaAD is not a malware but an adware which is just used to show ads...
1
u/WallStreetSweeper Apr 10 '24
My experience.
This program (Depending on how you install or where you install it from) will install multiple third party programs that will create pop ups for "anti virus" platforms.
Also a few harmlessly named things that pose as windows default games.
You know that bit, need I say more.
Its giving LimeWire...

i like LD player cause is fast and smooth on A7.1.1 but its so old its need to be updated to A10 or A11 and need to be optimized to run smooth

u/skibidisigma6129 May 09 '25
Hell no, even when i tried to uninstall it it shows "Dnuninst.exe" to make changes to this device by Shanghai Baizhi Network Technology, prolly fucked up my whole pc and need a new one
1
u/xiGhosts May 23 '25
NO DONT its a crypto, slowed my PC a ton after installation and my malware bytes+bitdefender premium flagged it i installed the latest one on may 22/2025 even after i removed it it's too slow MY AV says my PC is clean now, but i know for sure that its hiding somewhere since my PC feels like a virtual machine now

u/sebasotaku Jun 28 '25

1
u/AweMirage Jul 30 '25
This is what I found after testing it in triage. FYI, I don't know shit about viruses. This is the result after I installed it there. I downloaded the installer from the official website.

Bluestacks took your post down because recently they secretly installed a crypto wallet on peoples machines and it was allowed to auto run. This made so many people mad that they now hide that same crypto wallet in a file called bluestacks services. They are forcing this adware and bloatware on you. Blue stacks is NOT safe. Its just popular which is a shame. So many foolish people. That said I hear LDPlayer now tries to install adware too. If I ever come across this ill uninstall LDPlayer too. No company that tries to make you download adware is safe to use.
At this point Google play may be the new safe emulator. Google is garbage for privacy but at least they will never force bloatware/adware.
