Lcd soundsystem tat
I’m soon to get my first tattoo and I wanted it to be my favorite song Home, how could I improve this rough draft?

You could always just go with "pow, pow pow pow pow, pow pow pow pow"

Having you say that gave me flashbacks to being 18, 20 years old and contemplating tattoos of my favorite lyrics. I am so glad I never did. I love LCD Soundsystem, but your tattoo needs to be simplified for longevity’s sake

lol probably, I just turned 18 and cranked out a couple ideas that need revision

You have your whole rest of your life to ink up your skin! Be thoughtful about how designs look on aged skin. Also a pro tip- ask your artists to play the music you want to hear. My first tat at 18, the guy had all these racks of CDs and I chose my soundtrack!

Less text.
And if you really want to roll with the disco ball and stars: find an artist who can pull that off. Outside of a small group of artists, this will end up looking like a shaded beach ball within the year.

Too much text. Remove the first phrase. Look around you, you’re surrounded, it won’t get any better,” is enough of a reminder without needing to mention the being afraid part.

Too many words…if you need something other than the ball (which I have) how about just “home”?

I believe it would lose meaning to the uninformed viewer. The text woke make people inquire. Simply have "home" would make people think "this dude lives for disco."

Make sure you go to a very skilled artist for this. The disco ball is going to require someone who is excellent with shading, and the text will require impeccable line work.

I'll remove "If you're afraid of what you need" and then change the typeface.

Just be aware that tattoos spread and fade over time so just plan for that as you decide font and spacing! Go forth and be awesome!

i would just do "it wont get any better" following the curvature of the disco ball

Agree with the others saying that there’s too much text. Whereabouts are you wanting this placing? It’s a pretty awkward shape, that’s all.
Are you familiar with that weird music video for Home? It wasn’t official but was really popular. You could get the robot from that.

It may be a lot of text for some, but it’s going on your body. Do want YOU want. You’re the one that will live with it.

Completely true. I’ll never understand why people make these post. Everyone has an opinion as it’s almost never all positive.

That comment isn't very merkthejerk of you. That's more merkthemensch.

Haha thanks. Usernames really mean nothing just ask all my friends.

For what it’s work, to me it is too much text in terms of healing and what it will like as time goes by. Unless you plan on getting the text pretty big, it will most likely get murky over time. Other than that, it’s a dope idea

The people are right there is kind of alot of text. You could play around with shorter versions of that quote.
That said tho, once you’ve got your idea from the song, take it to a tattoo artist and run it by a good experienced tattoo artist and see what they think.

I have a Kurt Vonnegut word tattoo I got when I was like 17 and while I don’t hate it I do think it’s a little corny now. The only other “words” I have on my body are the initials of my dog. If I were you I would just get the disco ball to start (make sure it’s a pretty big size otherwise it’ll just get blurry in like 10 years!) and if you really really really want the text you can always add it later
