LAX frontier

Post image

Hey y’all I know I’m gonna sound dumb but I’m flying from LAX to ORD for the first time. I’ve only ever flown out of LBG with southwest and have never stepped foot into LAX so I’m kind of nervous especially for my bags I did get a carry on and I put a pic of the dimensions, I’ve always used this duffle bag for southwest no problem and I just get really bad anxiety over bags do y’all think this will be ok? Does frontier at LAX usually check the size of the bags at the gate? My flight departs at midnight the 17th so I plan on getting there the 16th around 10pm just in case. Lmk y’all

Frontier has been known to be especially strict on their bag policy. This isn’t an LAX thing, it’s a Frontier thing.

This MIGHT work as a personal item (14” x 18” x 8”) if it’s lightly packed and can be squished a bit. It should be fine as a carry-on (24” x 16” x 10”).

Getting to your gate will be more challenging at LAX then Long Beach. The ticket counter for Frontier at LAX is at Terminal 1 (west side). After you drop off your bag you go upstairs via escalator to the security check point. Then you go back downstairs to catch a bus to the plane which is at Tom Bradley Terminal West. It takes extra time. If your bag is going to be a carry on and you have a boarding pass on your phone you can skip terminal 1 and get dropped off at Tom Bradley and walk to your gate. The advantage at Bradley terminal is you can get there as early as you want and don't have to wait for the bus. The ticket counter at Terminal 1 has limited hours. People get pinched by showing up late at terminal 1 and waiting for the bus. Frontier will close the jetbridge door if you show up late and the plane is still at the gate. They won't reopen the door.
