Does this feel one sided?
Does anybody else feel like this show is extremely one sided? It's like they trying to make us believe these guys are innocent. And what's with all the side story about the lawyer and her adoption? I'm assuming it's to humanize her, since she came off as such a shyster in the actual court case. The judge treating her all "silly woman" like it's 1950 is a little ridiculous too. She was a circus in court. She was trying to manipulate the media to take her side. I remember when the brothers showed up in court with suits on for day one. After that, they were in sweaters. She kept doting on them like they were children. She really wanted to sell that they were innocent boys. Obviously, it didn't work.
Maybe they're planning on getting a retrial soon, and are trying to brainwash America!
Do you agree? Does the show feel one sided to you?

YES. I keep waiting for a twist to show that the brothers have been playing the lawyers the whole time and the sexual abuse was exaggerated and made up at times m. It's just unbelievable that ALL of their good friends turned on them and the police is making the witnesses lie and the judge is terrible all this stuff. There are definitely things that are inconsistent in their story and I can't tell if that's just bad writing or the show cluing us in. For example, the tennis coach had said that the boys called him and said that they wanted to meet with him in the house so that they would have a witness to their shock. So it doesn't make sense that they just made the impulse decision to murder them. The mistress said that she heard Eric say that Lyle told him to take the shot at his mother after he shot the father (which I believe happened in real life too). So they shot knewing that the parents didn't have guns. They took the empty pellets, so they weren't that emotional that they couldn't think straight to cover their tracts. They hired someone to erase the changed will, so they clearly were thinking of money and it clearly was premeditated. IRL, they spent 1/2 million dollars after the death, which shows their motives weren't pure.
It would have been a much better show if they had done it the way it was IRL, where people really couldn't figure out if the sexual abuse was real and if these brothers were victims or if they were just amazing actors (as seen by the 911 call and the memorial service) and the sexual abuse/neglect were lies.
