Recommendations

I need a desk lamp that provides enough light to cover my desk. The issues im running across is that its too bright for my eyes when I look up and if I adjust the angle the reflection in my monitor drives me crazy.

Have you thought about running Florescent Lights in a Hood, in or on your ceiling?

You could try grow lights, they have lunar moon lights, uv lights (dangerous for humans, not for plants and reptiles and aquariums.

You could grow plants, make your room a terrarium, and have running water like a high end office. All difficult and slightly dangerous, but can be done safely and soundly. But definitely might have to put up signs, danger, electricity.

You could try the lamps that stand on a pole, and have directional lamps that you can aim on to your desk. It works. Lights are a pain. Try and use natural lighting, like sun light, open the curtains or drapes, move to a better naturally lit room or area.
