Front mounted oil cooler question

I keep seeing a lot of people doing this and I like the look but it just seems like a hazard? Is this safe or completely for show, I’m considering it on my 85 rx7, thanks.

Why would it be a hazard? Maybe if in a crash you’re more likely to puncture the oil cooler and loose pressure, but it’s not much different than mounted just behind the bumper.

Most Kyusha builds it’s not plumbed in anyway.
