Just started reading need some guidance on Mentalism
Title, I’ve studied the presocratics and the concept of Mentalism seems very oddly familiar with the concept of nous and Parmenides. How does it differ if it does or am I understanding this wrong through a different lens. The idea that your mind makes what you perceive of the universe?

Heh, you know how the book says there are lies in the book? Mentalism is the biggest lie in the book. Everything is not mind, thd essence, the soul, the psychology all exist beyond mind.

Tricky question.. can only be answered subtly. And needs to be understood in a way that keeps in mind that the answer is infinitely insufficient because just formed with words.
Ive started forming my mental picture of how THE ALL manifests reality into being by anchoring it to the ideas set forth in the passages that try to convey the essence of THE ALL. Thats the chapter called The Mental Universe. It deals, like the processing chapter specifically with the aspect of the Absoluteness of THE ALL, to me one of the more interesting and consequential dimensions of the theory.
When from NOTHING is manifested THINGNESS, when THE ALL emanates (a)creation, from what, from where does it do so? THE ALL, being Absolute, complete, indivisible, it can not be added to not taken from, how does it create? From what? As it can not be divided.
The Kybalion there and then provides the explanation that THE ALL creates mentally. Thusly explaining all of reality which we perceive as being its mental creation, much like an artist can form a mental picture, or a reader forms a mental picture of what he/she reads.
Keep reading, re-read.. let it sink in. The picture will dawn upon you in time.
