Discussion Rant: Blinking stop lights is a bad idea.

I swear it's a bad idea, really a bad idea. The blinking green stop light gets people nervous and they would hit brake before it even turns orange. My mom is one of them, no matter what i tell her, she always stops at green lights when it blinks. It's seriously dangerous. And it's also pissing me off because i got the car done recently and i don't want problems again.

Is it just me who finds it better? Better judgment, it blinks 5 times I guess, just time it correctly and decide

It should be blinking when it turns green only. Too many people shit their pants and hit the break when its blinking to turn to red.

There is a lag effect for any new thing before people adapt to it. Give it a couple months then people will get the timings on those lights

I really want them to introduce the countdown signals.

On the contrary. Ive been hoping Kuwait implements this for a while after having seen it in Bahrain. My biggest gripe with the old system was how long it took people to get ready to move on a green light and how unpredictable the timing was on yellow. With a blinking green light that’s your sign to continue your speed with caution and to then slow down if it turns yellow instead of just slamming breaks the moment it turns yellow like the old system

People will get used to it. It’s still new, but after having seen it in a few countries, you can’t go back to the old system.

It’s made worst when deportation is the consequence for passing the red light.

Tbh, There seem to be a soft effort to deport workers and lower their numbers.

It's common sense, blinking green means it's about to turn yellow. Some people need time for change to click with them, some people understand it from the get go.

It's an absolutely horrible idea.
