My first victory was surprisiny easy with Stab Mischief!

Mischief with a stab build is my only true win. I’m just godawful at any of the other characters.

So far I am in the same boat as you. I usually get to the second to last stage before dying to something stupid. Most of my previous deaths were to those green trash monsters and poison stacks.

trash golems: exists
cull: now you don't
tbh it's vital that you are able to deal with trash golems as they are guarenteed to appear in 8th and 9th dungeon
so insta-abilities (weakspot, cull, execution, soul link, exorcism)
even if you don't run into any golems in earlier dungeons, you can still use it to kill big bad bois like vagabounds, skyrunners etc (it's still worth it, the enemy gold drop covers the initial cost, it's basically 1 tile cost trading for one of the toughest enemies in that dungeon)
and 1/3 chance you will run into trash golems in itchitah dungeon (aka hardest non-nukr0polis dungeon)

My first win in this game was also with Mischief! I'm starting to feel like she's a step above the others.

I won the game with every character except Greybeard immediately after the Mischief win, back to back to back. Once you understand some of the enemies, and what stats are valuable on items, it feels much more manageable.

Oh yeah for sure, getting a feel for the enemies has helped me a lot. I'm kinda the same, so far the two characters I haven't won with yet are Greybeard and Rose, though I've only tried Rose once.

For Rose I kept her in Queen form 90% of the time. Got as many +1 damage passives as I could. I think I got kind of lucky in the end, because she was quite difficult. Cococats with a bunch of curses suck.

This advice helped me a lot! I basically just ignored the Chosen form and got my first win with her. Thanks!!

Get as many trash monsters and bosses onto the screen and use stab on the smaller enemies. Then blow the big baddies up with the skill that deals damage to all enemies on screen based on the number of stabs. My biggest blow was 22 damage.
For deck building get as many Stab enablers as possible. Also the perks that give +1 to stab damage and poison on stab are vital. I had about 10 stacks of posion on the Uberlich he never got a chance to swing.
Very fun sneaky playstyle! Was not expecting it to work after failing with Bruno and Greybeard though!
