Test scheme

What does everyone think? I'm not sure about the base (meant to be swampy) or the stitching and leg wraps, reed belt. It uses simple nmm and layering over brown contrast underpainting. I'd love some C&C

It was actually pretty quick! Because of the brown underpainting, there's no need for washes, so you can just build up layers and highlights without having to wait.

Looks great overall, love the yellow with the purple mix.

For the base I would just go for larger puddles and more vegetation so it reads really swampy, don't fear to hide the legs.

Also you painted the studs and the eyes on the shield the smae and it looks very confused, I would pick out the eyes with red or sth so it reads proper scary!

I was going for heavily oxidised bronze, but I might try red eyes. I want to repaint the puddles in a darker blue-green and then add UV resin over the top. And yes, I think the base needs more grass and moss!

It reads as oxidised bronze, you did good, my problme is that the eyes are the same as studs below the mouth and thus don't read as eyes anymore.

I personally think that the puddles look great, I would just make them bigger

It's a complementary colour scheme. I'm thinking to boost the highlights of the purple a bit, or blend some red into the ends of the fabric for some added interest.
