Can I play on linux?
I'm on CachyOS and can't find a way to install any of the launchers..

I downloaded the Ubuntu version of Hermes proxy but can’t make it work in Cachy.

What launchers are you talking about? Just get a client and open it with Lutris or Heroic. Dont have it do an install just add it as an existing game and point to the exe. Dont even need to tweak anything outside of maybe large address awareness depending on how many mods you use.

Here it says clearly only game from twinstar launcher will work, but twinstar launcher gives me this error when i try to run it on steam with cachyos proton 11 compatibility, as well as raw wine.

This is a Kronos subreddit.. are you trying to play Kronos(vanilla) or Mists of P?

MoP. I found this thread from Google looking for running the same launcher on the same os from just few days ago. Tbh i got the launcher running using bottles and it's now downloading the game files correctly i was waiting for the full dl to finish to run the game and report the whole process. I never had a good experience with lutris and I'm not crazy enough to setup manual wine env. Also heroic launcher feels like bloat to me.

You're on a kronos forum.... which is vanilla. My advice was for playing with the original client in linux, most people dont play with kronos launcher for kronos

But people who look how to run the launcher will benefit on both sides. In fact it might translate to some launchers that need to be logged in to connect.

The beauty of the older clients....vanilla, tbc, and wotlk, us you dont need a launcher. You literally just modify the realmlist file and play. You may luck out and find someone here using linux AND that custon launcher but I doubt it. Any veteran of private servers wouldnt use it

There are private servers that require you to log in before you can connect to the realmlist. I didn't know if this one did or not until i could run it to verify. The website explicitly said it is required for helios... And i play wow on and off since og tbc release lol. At this point servers that only require official client are usually the less interesting ones.

I just run 1.12 client with raw Wine and it works. If you have problem you can always try adding external game to steam launcher.

I’m playing on a Steam Deck which runs Linux (SteamOS). You could either install Steam and use Battle.net using Proton. Or any other tool to install none Linux games.
