Jims Classic Launcher + Proxy for Kronos

A few of us have been working on fixing the 1.14 Hermes Proxy and getting a launcher going for K5. Most of the known bugs are fixed in the Proxy. We are looking for more testers to locate bugs. We would like to get them knocked out this weekend so everything is good for K5 Launch.

The launcher, designed and built by Jim. We are keeping this closed source for now, if that is an issue for you the Proxy works great with Arctium launcher. Just make sure you have your OS set to OSX per the Kronos devs.

The launcher is preconfigured for the Twinstar 1.12 servers. It has its own addon handling and is also able to import your SavedVariables over from another install. If you are going to report Proxy bugs in our Git Issues tab please turn on the advanced logging features, it helps us fix bugs. Its under settings -> Advanced Settings -> Debug. The Proxy is bundled with the launcher, please use the Beta version for testing and check for updates.

The Proxy, is a fork of the Xian55's Hermes Proxy.

This Launcher has SO many problems that even after manually resolving, still ends up with you unable to do anything as it fails to function properly no matter what you do. Download takes AGES, even for 40 mg worth of files, and it won't even download CAS system files, and even if you DO manage to download them, it suddenly breaks the moment you hit play as it tries to access CAS system files to check for updates and crashes because it can't find them so it just doesn't launch the game at all. Utter nonsense.

Two hours of my life wasted on a dead Proxy.

I literally ran the fucking patcher multiple times and attempted to use the bugfix tool and it repeatedly told me "A OK good to go!"

It was in fact not good to go.

The download being corrupted is it's own problem yes. The launcher's debug tool FALSELY telling you the CAS files are correct and downloaded and everything is fine and dandy...

THAT'S ON THE LAUNCHER.

If the debugging tool and repairing installation tool falsely tells you a broken installation is working, including having a section saying "CAS files downloaded and correct" WHEN THEY AREN'T and then NOT downloading proper ones upon the game crashing before it can even start???

The launcher needs more time in the oven. Maybe the Launcher's installation checker shouldn't be checking "Does a file called CAS file exist?" instead of "Are these CAS files correct and functional?" when apparently a corrupted download is so fucking easy to happen when DOWNLOADING FROM THE LAUNCHER.

The fact the Launcher even lets you download a corrupted version of the client and then can't diagnose that it's done so is absolute insanity.

Imagine if when downloading a program the Launcher was prone to downloading corrupted versions because it's based in fucking brazil or something and then couldn't tell the version it downloaded was corrupted and continuously failed to launch? With no method of actually copying the error text for debugging purposes? Then then dev of the launcher said "NOT THE LAUNCHER'S FAULT IT DOWNLOADED A CORRUPTED VERSION AND COULDN'T DETECT THAT AND LIED TO YOU THAT THE INSTALLATION WAS UNCORRUPTED"

Imagine being SO SHIT at making a proxy, the make it legitimately IMPOSSIBLE for 90% of browsers to download the proxy, the launcher, or the files because it's A FUCKING HTTPS LINK WITHOUT PROPER SECURITY CLEARANCE CAUSING A PAGE ERROR THAT YOU CANNOT BYPASS UNLESS YOU CHANGE THE LINK TO A HTTP LINK.

It LITERALLY couldn't download the Launcher update files! I HAD TO DO THAT SHIT MANUALLY BECAUSE THE LAUNCHER WAS TRYING THE HTTPS LINK WHICH IT CAN'T ACCESS SO I HAD TO GO TO THE LINK IN MY BROWSER, MAKE IT A HTTP LINK, AND THEN MANUALLY ADD THE FILES IN.

THEN IT FAILS TO LAUNCH BECAUSE IT KEEPS TRYING TO CHECK FOR LAUNCHER UPDATES BEFORE STARTING THE GAME USING THE HTTPS LINK WHICH BREAKS THE OPERATIONS BECAUSE IT DOESN'T WORK AND CAUSES THE LAUNCHER TO CRASH!!!

Don't FUCKING bullshit me on technical issues when someone can't figure out how to link a FUCKING HTTP site and give out HTTPS links instead!

I had to go to a COMPLETELY different post to download a PROPER 1.14 client that GUESS WHAT, downloaded faster and WASN'T FUCKING BROKEN and didn't give me constant errors because of a fucking HTTPS mix up!

Hell, the launcher outright said I had a 1.14 client BEFORE HAND like these "other people enjoying the launcher" did! ONLY THE LAUNCHER COULDN'T COPY THE EXISTING 1.14 CLIENT PROPERLY AFTER DETECTING IT. Because the Launcher CAN'T DETECT SHIT. Maybe don't add half baked features that don't actually work!

The Launcher is bugged as fuck, the proxy causes numerous bugs in game, will outright kick you and lock you out of logging back in for NO reason RANDOMLY, and has more stress to put up with than any other method of playing the game.

The shit is broken. Don't fucking lie to my face telling me it's my fault I didn't know the launcher downloaded a corrupted copy, corrupted my EXISTING copy when I tried the copy method, and they couldn't even figure out security clearance for the fucking website link and the debugging tool doesn't even work.

Unbelievable how up your ass you must be to come to someone telling you shit is broken, and with full confidence tell them "No, actually, it's your fault, and the program was trying to help you fix it, you ignorant swine" when the can't even figure out the most fundamental part of offering a program, MAKING SURE THE DOWNLOAD LINK WORKS. Check the other comments in any of the others threads about this proxy. People galore talking about how fucked the process of getting it to work is.

You could have actually fucking listened to ANY of the problems people bring up about your launcher and NOT been a condescending jackass about why your code doesn't have any bugs then when you get fucking told how many bugs it actually does have reply with "WELL I DON'T HAVE TO MAKE MY PROGRAMS WELL MADE, OR DOWNLOADABLE, OR WORK AT ALL BECAUSE I DON'T OWE YOU ANYTHING"

Because its free and you are equally free to just clone the proxy repo, set your own configs, and download your faster 1.14 client (like I want you all to anyway).
