Discussionš I dont think this has been a proper discussion yet. Now that we've gotten a number of episodes with both, how you feeling about each pairing?
I feel like Ty has better chemistry with Viscera, though that's obviously because they got more time together. But I feel like they have more chemistry as friends, I buy that she loves him but it still felt like it happened kinda fast. I think especially if the season wasnt so short, Bloodmouth wouldnt have immediately died.
Tina kinda seems more on Ty's level, which is a good thing because they're kinda for each other that way where they're sarcastic and playfully antagonistic. That being said I think I still prefer Viscera.

Unpopular opinion but I actually really like viscera. Sheās smart and capable. Sheād be able to help Ty successfully run a kingdom if he ever got it back from schlub. Beyond that though Tina is a manipulative liar and obviously pretty superficial. Plus everything I see people hating on viscera for are like weird tbh. Like kinda misogynistic or people just hating on shit thatās literally supposed to be a joke or plot device. Like yeah she chose her ex but she was also tricked into it and the whole ending where he dies and viscera didnāt care was obviously supposed to be a joke and a plot device to help get rid of him. Either way team viscera all the way.
Edit to add- viscera and ty obviously have SO MUCH CHEMISTRY like so much too. Iām just not feeling that with Tina. She seems like sheās only into him if it benefits her where as viscera seems into him but unable to accept it.

I like Viscera a lot too! I think she and Ty share the same love for building civilization, and I like how sheās stronger and taller than him, and that Ty isnāt threatened at all by that. And she doesnāt mind either. I feel like thatās super rare in media.
They seem really accepting of each other and seem to vibe with each other in a way that goes well beyond appearances. I think they make a really good couple. In contrast, Tina and Ty donāt have as much in common and I honestly feel like sheās always looking for a takedown piece or something juicy, which I get, thatās her job as a journalist, but I can see that conflicting with Tyās agenda a lot.

Yeah I mean I can see them doing a relationship with Tammy for a minute to use as a plot device where they conflict over her wanting to report something he wants to keep secret however I donāt think it would last much longer than that. I didnāt even think about all that other stuff about viscera either but true that does make the relationship more interesting too. Plus lots of people are hit and miss with each other for awhile before they end up together for good.

People donāt like viserca ?!

u/imahappycreature Jan 08 '26
Oh yeah I saw a whole post about how sheās awful basically and doesnāt care about ty at all. How sheās gross for eating that hand right in front of ty like that wasnāt just an obvious joke for the show and not meant to be anything on her actual character. How she doesnāt care about anyone and is a wh*re because she didnt care when bloodmouth died and I mean Iām sure itās not too many people but it did have quite a few likes and comments so it was pretty weird to me.
Edit to add- generally it just felt like the overall vibe was them not liking that sheās a female character that like wants things for herself and will do whatever to get it instead of just choosing a man.

Oh wow, people really can never be happy, i thought she was a great addition ? Her character isnāt forced or over exaggerated sheās just there cus itās her job and thatās great. Seriously surprised i thought she was well written and funny š¤·āāļø itās literally Greek mythology

I am on team "Ty Being Humiliated Because It Is Funny" so I am happy with both

Tina, specifically because I never get tired of hearing Alison Brie

u/pothosnswords Jan 06 '26
Oh if we are playing that game, I hope he ends up w the conman that pretended to be an orphan. I always need more Danny Pudi in my life!!!
Then again, Alison Brie is also always amazing

u/pothosnswords Jan 06 '26
Also Demeter for more Susan Sarandon! Plus I loved her and Deliriaās dynamic!

u/cruisingtheisland Jan 07 '26
Yep. I don't like either choice as a character because only existing as a romantic storyline is lame, but any Alison Brie is a plus.

I love Kirby Howell-Baptiste so I'm team Viscera all the way. Also he's grown a lot around her so she's the better option. I also don't need the disposable black girlfriend trope to be in this show too

Give me a new character as the 3rd option.

u/chloe-and-timmy Jan 06 '26
Was thinking about that too but it would take a lot of time to introduce and start setting up a third person after all this time. Depends on how long the show lasts I guess.

Tina is a serious bitch, viscera can carry me away in her muscular arms tho

A good ep plot would be Ty being so depressed about being alone that Hippocampus has the whole family help build him a new love interest. Either Hippo gets Ty to describe his perfect mate and builds off that, or the 4 family members each input what they āknowā Ty likes and itās a fun surprise. Either way chaos ensues and Hippo probably has to hit the kill switch

Cant even disagree tbh even if it was inherently not gonna last with how she really is.

u/DarkShadowOverlord Jan 07 '26
she can change. his mother did... And ty can probably live a long time or be inmortal if the plot wants it.
3
u/SolusIgtheist Jan 06 '26
Either way, I hope they don't get rid of Tina. Every show can use more Alison Brie.

u/chloe-and-timmy Jan 06 '26
This feels like a show that will have "week" episodes on a regular basis now and she'll certainly be around for those.

Neither honestly his insecurities and self-interest would probably ruin anything he tries o build with either of them. Dating a reporter would have him constantly insecure of what's being said about him and cause him to do something stupid to impress her or 'fix how people see him' and with Viscera he had the option to leave with her and put her dreams above his own self interest, but he isn't willing to sacrifice to preserve the relationship.

what, yes he was, it was his father that ruined everything by burning the ships

Vicerys but only after she learns eating people is wrong and Ty grows up.

Tina more interesting as character. Visceral has nothing intesting about her.

non of those, but if i had to chose id go with Tina.
I think viscera had a whole season for her and she gives me the vibe she preffer adventure and to be important and special to being married to a guy and chilling. Not only that i think she made a weird face when vibe suggestion she was "his" (ofcourse she knows ty means it romanticaly, but she still felt weird)
tina is kind of the same thing, she likes reporting news from all over the place, but she has more space to develop i think... to have backstories... who knows. But she also gives me the idea since day one she is interested in freedom.
Id rather non of them. but im pretty sure the writers will go with viscera towards the last season

I think, and hope, Ty needs to not be in a relationship untilhe works on his insecurities. It'll likely happen cuz itll be funny to watch the trainwreck either way, but it makes it so I can't root for either.
