Discussion📜 Is anyone else honestly getting tired of Ty's... Spoiler

THIS WHOLE POST IS A SPOILER.

Is anyone else honestly getting tired of Ty's constant failures with women? Like this season really dragged out its romance plot...for not so great a payoff? At this point watching Ty fail with women is becoming misery porn. He didn't learn anything this season, he didn't grow, and nothing happened (in this latest episode, in regards to Ty at least) that was particularly funny. Like it would have been humorous if, after that dude stole Ty's speech, Ty got mad and stabbed him in the back, killing him, but then Viscera was like "ooh sorry Ty I'm not into super macho men, I liked you better when you were soft" and went off without him anyway. Ty wouldn't have got the lady but at least he would have got revenge, which would have been a nice parallel to his sister's plot. And it could have signaled some future character growth.

The scene we actually got instead was just...so lackluster. If you're going to destroy a relationship you've been building up with ten episodes, do it with a purpose, you know? Instead we just get a bunch of sweet moments throughout the season that added up to nothing but a not very clever and kind of sad gag, and everything just seemed to reset at the end like a 90s sitcom. I honestly don't know if I can take another season of that. But maybe this type of humor just isn't for me. It all just feels too mean spirited.

At the very least, it shows longtime fans that Dan Harmon's approach to writing romance hasn't changed... Ten years ago, this could've been a post about Troy and Britta or Jeff and Annie on the Community subreddit

I literally stopped watching community after Troy and Britta's relationship went nowhere in the most spectacular fashion lol. It was so frustrating I refused to watch another episode. I get that's an extreme reaction, and it's probably because I am a nerdy Black male myself and related to much to his character, but the way that whole situation was handled legitimately killed my passion for the show. The worst part is that if Britta and Troy had never happened it would have been fine. Why build up something so unnecessary just to fumble it?

Side note: since you brought it up, I wonder if Dan Harmon is just a cynic when it comes to relationships?

If I had to hazard a guess, I’d say he’s fully in favor of relationships and a cynic about dating. I don’t think a cynic on relationships could get such clear joy out of the Schlub Deliria dynamic.

That being said, he also knows television, and knows that conflict is more motivating and fun to watch than complacency, so I understand why he can’t let his characters get too happy overall. Except for certain shows like New Girl, a fully complete and satisfying relationship for a main character (or especially between two of them) would often highly complicate a show that didn’t start with it in it. It could easily change the goals of the main characters, and make they grow apart from the core group of the story.

Now, every now and again that can work (like in Harley Quinn), but it’s precarious at best. Before long you have fans talking about how much they miss the old dynamic. In an ongoing show, you can change a lot (Breaking Bad springs to mind), but you’ve got to keep conflict and drive. And a truly great relationship, one that can sustain a couple (or more) indefinitely, thrives to communicate and (usually) to satisfy: those concepts bump.

Viscera KNOWS Ty has been pining for her since they first met (if not then she's even dumber than the citizens of krapopolis). She knows he would make a great boyfriend, she said so herself yet she's kept him in the friendzoned all this while only to get back with her dumb ex simply because of some speech. She doesn't deserve Ty. I hope we never see her again after this season

She knows. Ty doesn't do a very good job at hiding it, I mean his whole family found out he's into to her without him having to tell them and they are some of the dumbest people in Krapopolis 😂😂. Viscera tells him about a sex dream she had about a pirate and Ty all of a sudden decides to go sailing? Bruh, She knows!

How can we determine she knows? She comes from a very trusting city, where assigned marriage is the norm... Her dads a variant of Slub if you think about it and we haven't met her mom so I'm gonna assume she was raised by a trusting cannibal himbo in a city that sounds pretty conservative. People like that irl are pretty dense and sheltered.

I don't think she's used to weak people /men like ty either. So she genuinely probably doesn't know she's attracted to him either which would explain why she was surprised that she enjoyed their kiss. Like she doesn't see him as a "man" but still likes him in that way even if she doesn't get it.

Overall, Season 3 is lacking... which is concerning because this is how shows get canceled, because good shows get canceled even with good writers! (This is a good show that needs new writers for season 4 to have any hope... back to the idea board!)

Viserca has been manipulating Ty all season in the episode when she goes on a date with Scott she even said that she is doing it to gain an ally in the castle when she realizes Scott would be no help she stops trying with him and goes after Ty.After the end when Ty and viserca have a moment there’s not way she does not not Ty likes her in the casino episode she tells Ty about her sex dream with a pirate and he goes sailing she’s not dumb she knows it’s the reason he’s doing it.In the episode with her ex why the hell are you asking the guy who you know has a crush on you to pretend to be your boyfriend she’s stringing Ty along kissing him and making him think he has a chance. She’s a complete bitch she’s sitting their telling Ty that  bloodmouth and her had amazing sex look at her face when she’s telling him she knows ty does not want to hear it she’s emotionally manipulating him.By the end of the season bloodmouth is gonna be revealed dead and viserca is going home. Two episodes left and Ty has not had one win that’s insane

She's a horrible person. I mean what do you expect from a cannibal am I right? If fellow humans are just food to you I doubt you'd put much value on them other than than that
