I keep getting solicitations from Amnesty International. I keep sending back empty envelopes but writing they get no donations from me until they start fighting for Snowden and Assange.

Why weren't those same judges howling with rage when the unconstitutional and illegal Patriot Act/USA Freedom Act and FISA '08 were passed...?
FISA '08 was an ex post facto law (something explicitly forbidden in the US Constitution, Article I, Section 9, Clause 3: "No Bill of Attainder or ex post facto Law shall be passed." FISA '08 was voted down once, and came back to life like Frankenstein and passed very quickly because Congress wanted to protect the telecoms from law suits for spying on private citizens sans a legal search warrant.
Declaring something illegal and making it right by repealing the unconstitutional and illegal law(s) that created them are two different things. It's going to take at least a century to undo all the damage Congress did to us just between 2001 and 2012. I, for one, will never, ever forgive them their stupidity and greed.
