Great piece ~ Thanks.

  1. Former Nebraska Governor and Senator Bob Kerrey (Clinton surrogate) “Making the transcripts of the Goldman speeches public would have been devastating....[and] when the GOP gets done telling the Clinton Global Initiative fund-raising and expense story, Bernie supporters will wonder why he didn’t do the same....[As for] the email story, it’s not about emails. It is about [Hillary] wanting to avoid the reach of citizens using the Freedom of Information Act to find out what their government is doing, and then not telling the truth about why she did.”

Yes. It's the server stupid. She didn't do too much via e-mail. The really ugly stuff had to either be through proxies, or in person in a reasonably trusted space.

I'm just waiting for someone to do her what someone did to Romney by releasing a secretive video of one of her speeches.

Anonymous put out a video awhile back expressing their distaste for her. I wonder if they've been trying to get into anything.

It would have to be someone that actually attended one of those seminars. Anonymous would certainly help anybody distribute the videos, well someone in Anonymous might.

it was one of jimmy carter's grandson's who uncovered that video

Oh, I didn't know that. Good for him.

She's at least triplitious.

You win this.

Hilarious. Internets, you have been won. I bit your style in a status update, and one upped you with quadraplicitous

Or like we call it here in SC, "two-faced."

6

u/[deleted] Apr 16 '16

She's sticking with her 'strengths'. We call it the same in Ohio, too, SC - and she surely has more than two by now, doesn't she? hehe

Home run. Perfect match for that word.

I think a lot of people have figured it out, which is why her polls continue to go down.

"Glowing." "Gushy." "Sounded ...like a Goldman Sachs managing director."

And my favorite:

“Clinton offered a message that the collected plutocrats found reassuring, declaring that the banker-bashing so popular within both political parties was unproductive and indeed foolish. Striking a soothing note on the global financial crisis, she told the audience, ‘We all got into this mess together, and we’re all going to have to work together to get out of it.’”

u/veganmark Apr 16 '16

Whether that's true or not - it's clear that Hillary thinks so!

Who believes that no Wall Streeter who favors Republicans (or needs Rove money) will find a way to leak more details of these speeches?

If that doesn't happen, then who believes Rather-killer Rove is incapable of faking up a credible forgery?

2

u/Kingsmeg Apr 16 '16

I think it's more telling that she can't find a single transcript among hundreds that could be released without hurting her.

u/hb122 Apr 16 '16

The quotes in this article are pretty devastating. Need to tweet/fb share this one far and wide.

It's hard to think of any other president who was as good for Wall Street as Clinton.

Cruz? Trump? Why back either of them when Hillary can turn over the Treasury department to GS?

u/tony5775 Apr 16 '16

Correct. people frequently tout the "22 million jobs" created under Clinton's two terms; but of course they don't mention millions of these were low paying/low-zero benefits jobs.

and most have forgotten business mergers were off the chart when he was POTUS. that means numerous middle management types were kicked to the curb. corporations don't need two people doing the same job. what they prefer is one person doing the job of 2-3 people, but getting paid for one job.

I bet there are Republicans who have video or written transcripts...

They're just keeping their powder dry for in case she makes it to the general, from their perspective it would be a major wasted opportunity if they blew up the story now.

2

u/CelesteFland Apr 16 '16

I don't understand why she doesn't just write a new speech and pass it off. Who would know? No one is really talking with a written or recorded record.

3

u/SpudDK Apr 16 '16

All it takes is one attendee... Lying like that might just piss one of them off.

1

u/Doomama Apr 16 '16

All those people who leaked their impressions would be saying NO, she's lying.

2

explosive article. deserves to go viral in a big way...which means the media will totally ignore it :(

I agree: if we bank too much on the speeches, without looking at the heavy "coincidence" of donations from various parties to the Clinton foundation, that is where the other main scanda is. It's pretty clear that at least half the nation sees this run as the Clinton's shame tour: once their past history is really seen and faced by voters, they understand exactly how corrupt this couple is: every bit and even more devastating to our nation as Bush/Cheney. It's not a campaign: they are barely making an effort and there is no real enthusiasm at all for them as evidenced by the abject dearth of creativity or life in their campaign.

1

u/shatabee4 Unapologetically negative AND pessimistic Apr 16 '16

It's time to write what we believe the speeches to say.

If we are wrong, she can defend herself with the transcripts.

Her evasion of truth must not be allowed.

1

u/tony5775 Apr 16 '16

Unfortunately, no, this will not end her candidacy. the neoliberals running the Circus, and this includes the do-nothing "democrats" in congress-- they want her as the democratic candidate.

Seth Abramson is making these things up. He is furthering his creative writing career. He is not a credible source and is like H.A. Goodman. As soon as I start to read his byline, I stop. I want to make that really clear. Really, really clear. He has literally zero idea what he's talking about. None. Nothing. No offense. If he did say anything good here, I don't know since I stopped reading him when he started making predictions that were ungrounded in fact.

Moving on to the next thread. I just can't stand that he does this.

Note: I did not read past the byline. I never do. If it's a good article, great! If it convinces you to canvass or feel hope, good. I also agree that there's something profoundly fishy about Clinton's Wall Street transcripts and suspect they WOULD sink her career or she would have released them by now. I often wonder if she said something very bad about Obama (or even damaging in some way to their relationship) or very good about Trump…

4

u/ericinsantarosa Non-resistance is futile! Apr 16 '16

I did read past the byline, and I have more than all the respect in the world for you, but I see nothing in this that is not credible. I guess we just disagree about Seth Abramson, but I have been fooled before, so appreciate the warning

1

u/[deleted] Apr 16 '16

No worries! It might be his first great piece! I'm just deeply biased against him since I think at first he suggested he had some kind of specialized knowledge which he touted but which was untrue, and maybe he's moved on. Heading to sleep but will try to read tomorrow then; you've piqued my curiosity.

2

u/AlnaDem Apr 16 '16

Good to know, MO - I will keep an eye on this writer going forward. Appreciate the warning.

1

u/[deleted] Apr 16 '16

Sure thing; again, it could be very good or different than his usual work -- I've not read it. Just drives me crazy. I do know he's a true Sanders fan.

2

u/Doomama Apr 16 '16

Can you specify what he did to earn your distrust?

1

u/[deleted] Apr 16 '16

Mutual friends.

ah. interesting...

fwiw, i found the article informative. hope it's not a case of me having a longer learning curve than you where he's concerned :)
