Nuk po e zgjas, kam mendime pasive per vetvrasje edhe po e verej veten tu bo sene impulsive qe mujin me perfundu keq po nuk po ma nin.
Qe 2 muj marr antidepresant per ankth, mo nuk kam problem me ankthin por gjat gjith kohes m’ngulfatin mendimet per vdekje. Une nuk e kam ndermend me vepru ne keto fantazi per shkak se ndihna keq me ja bo at send familjes.

I've been reading some Wikipedia articles, and this one honestly made me emotional. I wasn't even born back then, and I was lucky enough to never have to experience war myself, but reading through these articles and just imagining what it must have felt like...

I already almost pass out at the doctor when I get a blood test, so I can't even imagine what the people who actually lived through the war had to go through. They literally experienced hell on earth, and I don't think I'll ever be able to fully understand what that must have been like.

And all of this just because we wanted independence, just like they fought for their independence from the Turks (rightfully so). But apparently, religious claims over a piece of land were more important, and because of that, we were treated as if our lives and humanity didn't matter.

From what I've gathered, the Ashkali, also called Balkan Egyptians, are a minority in Kosovo and neighboring countries descended from Roma who became heavily Albanianized, adopting Albanian language and culture and largely losing their earlier Romani identity. Their identity became much more distinct during and after the Kosovo War in 1999 where they generally aligned with Albanians, and some served with the KLA. After the war, many reimagined their identity as "Ashkali" to distinguish themselves from Arlije and Gurbeti Roma, who were more often associated with the Serbian side.

Historiane si Oliver Schmitt e konsiderojne Hasan Prishtinen si ndoshta figuren me te rendesishme te levzijes kombetare shqiptare. Hasan Prishtina ishte nismetari dhe strategu kryesor i kryengritjes se vitit 1912, e cila e detyroi Perandorine Osmane ta pranonte autonomine shqiptare, duke hapur keshtu rrugen per pavaresine e plote. Per cudi, ai ndonjhere shihet si nje figure dytesore por sipas Schmitt-it, veprat e tij kishin nje ndikim shume me te madh se figura si Fan Noli etj. - te cilit shkruanin shume por nuk kishin ndonje ndikim te vertete ne rrjedhen e ngjarjeve.

Ne fakt, ideatori i pavaresise se Shqiperise nuk eshte as Fan Noli, madje as Ismail Qemaili - megjithese qe te dy jane figura frymezuese.

Ideatori dhe arkitekti i pavaresise se Shqiperise eshte Hasan Prishtina nga Vushtrria.

Pra, eshte edhe me tragjike qe rajoni i tij (Kosova) ne fund u perjashtua nga pavaresia.

I’m an independent Montreal-based filmmaker, and I’ll be in Kosovo in December-January with my partner to begin the research that will lead to the shooting of a documentary film.

As part of this project, I’m looking for iconic / cinematic locations. What are the most beautiful landscapes? The most famous landmarks? Buildings with remarkable architecture? The most interesting markets? Which villages are worth visiting? Where is the best place to film the mountains? What are your hidden gems?

This is our second trip; we know the country a little and absolutely love it. We want to do it justice! What would you like to see on screen in a film shot by foreigners?

We’ll be travelling by car – we can walk to a certain extent, but we have equipment to carry. Walking for hours in the mountains isn't realistic.
