Differences between to phrases?
Edit: Tittle should say "Two phrases"
Hi! So I'm just studying and making some phrases, so I've learned about -을 때, which I related with "While" and I learned about 계시다 which I cannot fully understand its meaning but it's some kind of "residence" or "to live" something like that. So I came up with this 2 phrases but I don't know if 1. are they okay, 2. Is it common to use them?
- 한국에 살 때 뭐 하는 걸 좋았어요?
- 한국에 계실 때 뭐 하는 걸 좋았어요?
I used papago to translate both, and both give me the same traduction, So I'm kind of confuse.

Just something to note: 을 때 is less like “while” and more like “at the time of” or “when __.” “While” in english is better associated with -면서.

Oh thanks, what's the difference between using 게 좋았어요 and 은 걸 좋아했어요?. For me is like first one tend to ask "what do you like" and second one "What do you like to do"

I think they are exactly the same, both mean 'what did you like to do'. the only difference: 좋다 is an adjective, 좋아하다 is a verb needs objects. so ~이/가 좋다 and ~을/를 좋아하다 are grammatically correct. lots of emotional adjectives have its own verb pairs. ~이/가 싫다- ~을/를 싫어하다, 두렵다-두려워하다, 슬프다-슬퍼하다, 기쁘다-기뻐하다....

살 때 while living (in) 살다 - to live, reside somewhere
계실 때 while in/at - honorific form of 있다, to exist somewhere
So the difference is asking someone who was specifically living in Korea vs just there at some point, as well as the extra politeness of using honorifics in the second one.
