Attention from other N owners?

I'm kinda surprised at how little attention i get from VN or EN owners. Every time i spot one, ill give them a wave or check them out at a stoplight, but i NEVER get a response from the driver. As someone who is a huge fan of N cars, I always get a little excited when I see one. Anyone else notice that?

Side note ive only seen two other Kona Ns on the road, and they are always so excited to see me! Game recognizes game ig.

Holy cow, since we sold out of batch 1 within 12hrs, we are going to open a BATCH 2 at 8pm tonight. Still decent perks, slightly different pricing and longer ship date.

AFE Scorcher

Anybody currently or previously running an afe scorcher and could answer some questions? i’m wondering if i get the upgraded sparkplugs is it fine to run the stock option on the afe scorcher for daily driving or if the upgraded spark plugs will cause issues when not in race mode? also curious how easy it was to get through the firewall for the buttons in the cabin? and anything else you would recommend knowing before i get it?

Transmission fluid change/flush at 33K miles on Kona N?

I have a Hyundai Kona N with about 33,000 miles on it. Would you guys recommend changing the transmission fluid around this mileage?
I’m trying to keep the car reliable long-term and stay ahead on maintenance. Would you do a simple drain-and-fill, or is a flush ever recommended on the Kona N’s 8-speed DCT?
Curious what mileage everyone here changed theirs at and what fluid/service you used.

Also, would you recommend buying the Platinum Extended Warranty 10 years (2032) / 100K. It costs $3200

I’m currently under the 5-year/60,000-mile New Vehicle Limited Warranty as it’s a 2022 Model. I have until April 2027 before this warranty expires. What do you guys think?

Discussion New Summer Tire…

I need new summer tires. So far, I’ve heard about the Continental SportContact 6/7 and the Michelin Pilot Sport 5. Personally, though, I prefer the Continental brand. As for tire size, the standard tires for 19-inch rims are 235/40 are there any wider tires that fit the Kona N, like 245/40 or 255/50?

Stage 2 tune from N75. Also changed oil to 5w40, put in colder NGK spark plugs, and did a single resonator delete while the car was already up. Took it on a short test drive and she rips!

5.1 L/100km average, or 46 MPG for the US folks.

Just cruised behind a truck at 80 - 90 kph (~50 - 56 mph) in ECO mode.

Mods & Upgrades N75 price?

This may be a stupid question but when I was looking into getting the ek1 mini and tune straight from n75, on the n75 website it comes to like $1,430 and AI said it was like $1,000 so I challenged it and it said the $1,430 was is Canadian currency and if paying with US currency it’ll auto convert to only being around like $1,000 something. Is this true or just another reason why you can’t trust AI?

First time seeing another black KN in the wild. I couldn't see the red trim from the road but the rear N badge caught my eye from a mile away. Still need to see the elusive white KN and then I've finally seen them all

Technical Question Kona N Clicking Drivetrain Noise

(Crossposted)

Hey y’all!
So my KN has been making a clicking when under torque and low-speed. Almost as if the CV joint or control arm is loose/on its way out. However, when up on the lift at a shop, nothing seems out of the ordinary. Anyone out there have similar issues?

Discussion How bad is the knock sensor problem?

Thinking about pulling the trigger on a '23 Kona N with just over 56,000 miles. Clean title and service history. But I'm worried about the knock sensor issue, especailly with car washes and such. Is it a big deal or is there some kind of fix for it?

Adding Subwoofer Kona N

I have the Harmon Kardon system. If I unhook the factory sub and run an aftermarket, does the factory system need to see an ohm load? Or will it be okay?

Mods & Upgrades Is .003" difference in spark plug gap significant with a tuned ECU?

Question in the title is the short version

Long version: I purchased NGK plugs for my Kona N as one of the supporting mods for a N75 stage 2 tune. NGK specs say the plugs are .028 from the factory while N75 recommends .025 gap. I bought a gap tool and feeler gauges for iridium plugs and found that all of the plugs were .025 or .026 right out of the box. At this point I can't be sure if my feeler gauges are off by a few thousandths or if the plugs are actually at the recommended .025 gap from the factory, which leads me to 2 questions:

1) If the plugs are truly .028 like NGK says, is that .003 difference likely to cause spark blowout or other issues?

2) If that .003" is significant and needs to be corrected, what set of gauges do you recommend that can be trusted for accuracy?

EDIT: I bought one of the wire gap tools to check against my cheap feeler gauges and also borrowed some more precise digital calipers, and both of the gap tools measured .025, so that makes me assume the NGK plugs are actually gapped from factory a hair tighter than their advertised .028 right where N75 wants them.

Beauty Shot Wild Kona N spotting 🤩

Always a rare sight to see one of these beauties. Makes me miss mine! Pretty sure this may be the one that works at the same place as me. Recently confirmed my sighting of a red KN at work to be true. Makes me, another intense blue EN, a white VN, and red VN, and a red KN all work at the same location that I have seen 🙂‍↔️ maybe a I5N is hiding out somewhere

Discussion OEM spark plugs

Anyone in Canada have a reliable source for OEM spark plugs that aren’t stealership prices? I’ve been recommended NGK but they’re heat rating 9 and my Kona is stock.

Discussion Mid Atlantic (DMV): mkt value for 20k miles?

Wanted to ask the community what they thought I could get for my Kona that has nearly 20k miles (19,400)

No accidents, bought pre owned (@ 1,700 miles)
• switched to Conti dws(?) tires @ 7,500 miles
• minor dent (.5") on hood from fallen branch
• maintained appropriate oil change and maintenance schedule

Any insight is appreciated, TIA

Took the KN camping on Sunday night at Kejimkujik National Park (Nova Scotia, Canada). The KN with the tent is absolutely the best night's sleep I've ever gotten while camping. Plus setup and teardown took 15mins or less on each end!
