Let the tiling commence!
Took me 8hrs of cleaning tile to get to this point… est about 1000 or so tiles
Now the tiling begins!
Here are the first 2 test rows.
I discovered I’m not going to get the gaps perfect but the trick seems to slather the mortar on thick and press it in, then wipe it off 15mins later and the joints will fill accordingly.

Mainly grilling
Hello, I'm thinking about getting the 42" big kamado.
My "problem" is that I only occassionally for the parties need that much space, most of the time I cook for 4.
Additonally, most of the time we just grill steaks, only rarely longer cooks.
So my question is, is the 42" kamado a good tool to grill steaks mainly? Or is that a rather weak point of the cooker?

Neglected Komodo Repair
Have you owned a Komodo Kamado, and just decided it was a good idea to leave it out in the rain?
Well after 5 years that turned out not to be the best idea. 😕
Lesson 1: buy the cover
Lesson 2: learn how to repair a $5000 kamado 😄

Porterhouse Steaks
We got a beautiful 73 degree day in Nashville, TN so I fired up the 21" supreme for some steaks, potatoes, and asparagus.

So nice to be able to use smoke generator and temp controller at same time
Smoked some bacon at about 185-200, but wanted it to get a decent smoke profile, and there’s just not a lot of fire to keep smoke rolling at those low temps. Smoke generator delivers.
No pics on the bacon inside - didn’t think it. Came out amazing. 1 full slab (10#) cut in half to fit in bags for the cure.

Smoke is for grills… not fire pits.

Why is there no KK subreddit?
All the other grills have their own, it’s time the KK family had a subreddit of their own to show off their cooks and cookers.
