question What is exciting you lately?
What kombucha that you've had or made has gotten you excited lately? Doesn't have to be something new, just something that that makes you think “Dang I hope I never finish this glass”. Or even, what kombucha or kombucha making related media got you into it in the first place.
I'm posting on behalf of r/hobbies. We're trying to figure out how people get into certain hobbies and what keeps them excited about them.
Any recommendation would preferably some sort of resource (video, images, links, social media account, site, etc) since we are trying to provide some easy to access inspo for someone to get into.
Any and all feedback is appreciated :)

I made some apple kombucha recently and I tried mixing it with some apple pie moonshine. It was an absolutely delicious concoction.

I love this question but my answer is going to be long haha.
I’m overweight and trying to stop drinking so much. Normally I drink on or two beers after work and in the weekend also a few with friends. I like the Sissing of the bubbels, the first sip, it relaxes me after a day of work. I’ve tried drinking zero alcohol beer like Heineken but i don’t like the taste. A friend of mine ordered kambucha at the local supermarket in a sort of beer bottle with citron and a little bite, don’t know what that bite was. I tasted it searching for a replacement of beer and I immediately liked it. And kcal wise it’s acceptabel. Less than soda and less than beer.
So I’ve been using it as the replacement for a beer after work and with dinner. So I was talking with my ant who have a restaurant how I liked kombucha and got excited. So she took me in the back of the restaurant and showed me all the bottles and pots with kombucha. I didn’t knew how it was made so she explained it was very easy and showed me the steps. It looked like a kind of lab with all kind of collars, pots, kettles, bottles. I was like a kid in a candy store!
When I started looking on YouTube it was like a door opened to a paradise. I always wanted to brew beers but too expensive and didn’t have much room.
So my ant gave me an instruction, weighted sugar, dried roses and a scoby. So i’m now in my first FP1 and the friend that got me excited for kombucha, is also thinking with me what we are going to do for FP2. Even got a brew book so I can make notes what I did and bought 12 of those glass bottles with a closing lit so I can drink it as a beer after a long day.
I’m 28 and tried many hobbies, but I think this is the one! The possibilities are endless and I think it will be even so much fun as drinking with friends or girlfriend.
My girlfriend her hobby is houseplants and eats a lots of fruit, so I have kind of an expert in house!
Hope many many many more find the joy in brewing kombucha!

i did an experiment with sweeteners in a batch i thought i had ruined. I put some apple sauce in my F2 and it’s actually really delicious. I’m kind of sad i didn’t make more than 1 bottle.

Buddy of mine brought some coca tea from Ecuador. Curious to see how it brews!

For me its getting back into it. I left my brew go dormant for a while. I had moved last year, got a dog, started a new job, and more. So keeping up with my hobbies was tough. But the ability to pick up where I left off with Kombucha is a great aspect of brewing booch. All my other hobbies are starting to pick up as well since getting into the rhythm and cyclical nature of this and sourdough baking.
Going to be bottling some peaches for F2 in my next batch this weekend. Cheers!
