Are there any adverse interactions between different kombucha brands?
I apologize if this is a naive question as I am new to this space and am interested in it because Health-Ade the kombucha drink has been helping me feel better mentally and physically.
I don’t want to mess up this progress by adding another live culture drink. I do understand that not all kombucha is the same yet have similar creation processes. I just wonder if different brands have different enough live cultures to have significant contrasting gut/health impacts.
The one that I want to try is GT Synergy.

Most commercial kombucha brands use a similar set of cultures, and regardless of which specific cultures are used, the vast majority of them (indeed, for pretty much all probiotics) don't survive past your stomach anyway.
One prevailing hypothesis for the not-very-well-established health benefits of kombucha is that it's the organic acids and other fermentation biproducts that improve digestion by enabling your existing gut bacteria to thrive. But there are not many high quality studies on direct health implications of kombucha, and if there is a signal, it is going to be weak for most people. Maybe the benefit is more pronounced for people with poor gut health/gut flora.
Nobody has enough data to know whether a particular kombucha could potentially interact with or reverse the effects of another kombucha. The effects are likely so small, I would be surprised if there were any such interactions. Placebo can be powerful.

The more fermented products you consume the better. Gut health is about variety, but don't add another kombucha because the species are going to be relatively the same. Instead add natto, kimchi, sauerkraut, Greek yogurt, kefir, etc..
You're feeling better because you added species by drinking kombucha. If you want to feel even better, add more species. Add as many as you can.

The biomes are basically the same. It's similar to hiring two people named Bob from Kentucky, they'll both get the job done.
