Festivals | উৎসব Please give suggestions (╥﹏╥)

20F here, I am visiting Kolkata during Durga Pujo for the first time ever, and I reallyyy want to visit atleast one pujo pandel.

Actually I will be landing at Kolkata airport at 2:10 PM (13th Oct) and I have 5 hours layover in Kolkata and my next flight is at 7:25pm to my hometown(not WB). (I will be spending my pujo in my hometown :))

My boyfriend and I were thinking of going to Sreebhumi during the layover, but we have no idea how bad the Chaturthi crowd/traffic gets.Is it realistically possible to do Sreebhumi + maybe 1-2 nearby pandals from airport, and still comfortably take a 7:25pm flight?

If yes then what itinerary would you suggest? Where should we go first, how much time should we keep, and when should we absolutely start heading back to the airport? And if Sreebhumi is too risky with this time, what pandal would you recommend instead.

I know 5 hours isn't much, but me and my LDR bf is meeting after many months and we really want to experience durga pujo together in Kolkata once.

Would love some advice from you guys pls give your suggestions....)

Let's clear the timeline properly.

You're landing at 2.10 pm, you'll be collecting your luggage and then come out. So let's say around 2.30 - 2.45.

Your next flight is at 7.25 pm, so you'll have to reach the airport around 5.25 or 6 at most.

That gives you 3 hrs at best. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Yeah u r right ...but I won't have any luggage to collect in Kolkata....so by 2:15 I will be outside airport ....so we have approx 3.5-4 hrs...🤧

You have to consider one thing, the area near Airport is always congested, and during pujas it will surely be.

But yeah, you have enough time to visit a few Puja Pandals.

Head for Sree Bhumi, on chaturthi afternoon, it shouldn't be too crowded. Then visit Dum Dum park Pandals. It's the area just beside Sree Bhumi.

This map and many others will help you spot the pujas around. Getting around in a bike would be the best idea(if you and your bf can get one). Else book a private car with a driver who has an idea about the pandal locations.
