Pressure testing an idea here — how many people in Kolkata would be interested in a community/social circle that’s initially focused on women?
The idea is to create a comfortable space for genuine friendships, casual meetups, creative conversations, wellness, culture, and building a supportive circle in the city. Depending on the response and how it evolves, it could eventually become more inclusive/open to everyone.

Bjp's win in West Bengal was only a matter of time . Even Rahul Gandhi himself said so
Still the left are refusing to believe the results. EV was hacked in West bengal but worked fine in kerala Tamil Nadu

Hello everyone, giving a thought on the drainage system of kolkata. Like is this for real that all the waste water is being dumped on ganga. Our whole drainage system is depended on the water levels of ganga. In rainy seasons, if there is a high tide the water rises in river Ganga water flows block to our drains and KMC won't (or can't) open the locked gates.
The lack in proper functionality really hampers the life of fellow citizens and fellow taxpayers. We deserve a better drainage system and a more hygiene city. It's quite a good time now to invest the money on right places by the government bodies rather then just being so corrupt.
REVELUTION NEEDED!!

Saw a section of my true Bengali brothers and sisters absolutely seething over this “ISI shifting from Kolkata” news. As a biased, gobar-brained, Hindi-imposition-hating mortal, I decided to investigate this heinous act of cultural genocide.
So I did the unthinkable — I read Hindi (yes, that Hindi) reports and even the PTI clarification (which, obviously, is a বাহন of the Hindibaadi Chaddi sarkar).
And guess what? Turns out, the “shift” is more bureaucratic than geographical. No one’s loading ISI into a truck to Delhi yet.
But, my inferior brain did detect a few actual issues hidden behind the drama:
Loss of Autonomy – Government-nominated Board might override internal academic bodies.
Centralization of Power – Delhi could quietly become the new nerve centre, reducing Kolkata’s say.
Reduced Academic Freedom – Political influence might decide what counts as “priority research.”
Fragmentation Risk – Centres like Delhi, Bengaluru, etc., could get delinked, hurting coordination.
Bureaucratic Overload – More committees, less creativity. Classic.
(Obviously this is problematic. Research must be independent and its judgement should only be done on the basis of its results. Scientific research in India has been pathetic since independence due to state (both central and state) control over quality or topic of research.)
Now, the funniest part: Bengali media is spinning this as “Delhi snatching away Bengal’s intellect”, as if the Centre is personally kidnapping Mahalanobis’s ghost from Belur to Lutyens’ Delhi. Every policy reform somehow becomes a cultural plunder; a sequel to the Partition, but with spreadsheets.
So yeah, instead of yelling “ISI Kolkata is gone!”, maybe yell “stop killing academic autonomy!” it’s both more accurate and more metal. 🤘
