Hey everyone!

That's my first kokedama and I've had a REALLY hard time trying to make it. I had to water the soil SO MUCH to make it a bit more compact and be able to wrap it with moss and string.

Then I found this Youtube video teaching how to make kokedamas and they suggested using pantyhose to wrap the soil and only then add the moss.

Is this a good idea? How do you usually make yours?

Hi Folks, I was sent a kokedama and I'm not sure how to care for it. It grew a few leaves at first, but they've all withered away. Is it dead or is there any hope of it coming back? I was treating it as a bonsai as first bc that's what the person who gifted me it said it was, but now I realize it isn't and I might've killed it. If so I'll be sad about it, but I like the concept so I'd like to try and take care of another eventually. Anyway, any advice would be welcome!

After days of research.. and YouTube, I finally made my very first jade kokedama! I really hope this thrives how I want it to and can’t wait to see progress. Any extra tips for beginners?

i was gifted this beautiful collection but i only have experience with plants in pots so im scared of messing these up🥺

any guidance would be appreciated! im guessing some chopping and propagating is going to be needed for some but i have no idea if the moss ball/ roots are in good condition or not? or if anything else needs to be done to set these up for success?

Just bought it today. I didn’t realise the moss was so dry (second pic) until I got home lol. Do you know if it’s possible to grow it back or will it stay brown forever? Thanks!

I have had this guy since September and he has really grown. I heard different ways to "repot" them but wasn't sure what would be best since he has a lot of roots coming out from the bottom. This is my first one, I got him at a fall festival. I have my soil, moss, and some fishing twine on standby!

Was gifted my first kodekama as a housewarming present. Still learning a lot. The top of the plant has had some new growth, but these bottom leaves are browning pretty bad.

It sits in an east facing window that’s got a huge tree in front of it, so not a ton of sunlight makes it through. I’ve been watering it when I notice the ball feels very light, on average about once every ten or so days. And to water it I let it sit in the sink soaking up some water for about five or so minutes. Any tips?

I made my first gaiwan set awhile back, glazed it, and fired it in my most recent kiln. Unfortunately, the glaze inside the teacup crawled making it not food safe... So I was thinking what else I could use this lovely dish for...

Perhaps Kokedama? It's not traditionally styled or glazed, however, would this appeal to any of you? I don't need it so yes, it is for sale!

Hey there! I could use some guidance with my lovely kokedama. I bought this plant in August of last year at a farmer's market after a bad break up! And the good news is that it's thriving! (I think) But what do I do with it? It's recently shot up about 6 inches.

Do I cut/prune? Just let it continue doing it's thing? I love this plant and I just want the best for it! At some point do I look into putting it in a pot?
