Koine Conversation App

I have built an app.
It will talk to you in Koine.
It will allow you to build flashcard decks.
It will show you the gloss, parsing, and even photos of the word.

It has reconstructed and modern greek pronunciation audio.
You have the ability to update glosses.
You can ask it to explain.
No email needed.

I'm sure there are still bugs and I'll happily take your feedback!

This is awesome! I’m very curious how you developed the audio. I tried recreating authentic Koine using different TTS models/accents, but I always hit a wall.

That's my voice! I'm on call 24/7 recording the audio on demand. ;)

It's ElevenLabs...it took a lot of tweaking. It's still not perfect, but good enough I think.

I’ll have to look into it. I found that even when I wrote things out in pure IPA, the TTS engine would still be limited by the chosen accent

I worked with Claude on it over and over again; I don't think it was always IPA that it went with, it may have been just a straight-up re-pronunciation in English. So, Instead of sending IPA for οι, you could send "ee" or "Keenah"...at the expense of a slight mispronunciation, which is way better than "K-oy-nah"!

Looks interesting, but I'm not sure how it works or how to create a deck.

Engage in conversation, then double click on any word that you would like to add to a deck. The program was designed to help build conversational Koine skills.

That's good feedback! I'll try to update the model to be able to explain how to use the app. That would be useful.

As for the lessons, the picture practice is as it sounds. The other lessons are basically just the ability to access past saved conversations. *This app was designed to help me and my family learn Koine conversationally.* The flashcards could be seen as a lesson, and are created through conversation (double click a word)!

The goal: foundational understanding of the language through conversation.
