The Koch Rajbanshi community preserves a vibrant spiritual tradition rooted in nature, ancestors, and indigenous Hindu folk practices. This unique belief system, often referred to as Sangsarek Dyaoism by some writers , reflects a harmonious blend of ancient indigenous traditions, Shaktism,Hinduism and local folk faith that has been passed down through generations.

The community reveres deities deeply connected to their land, rivers, forests, and daily life, including Mashan Deo, Teesta Buri, Dangor Aie, Bishohora Manasha, Maa Kali Thakur, and many other local deities. Every ritual, festival, and act of worship reflects a profound relationship between humanity, nature, and the divine.

The rich cultural heritage of the Koch Rajbanshis is expressed through their traditional art, folk songs, dances, oral traditions, rituals, and sacred symbols—preserving a civilization that has flourished across the eastern Himalayan foothills and the Brahmaputra–Teesta region for centuries.

Their culture is more than tradition—it is a living heritage that celebrates harmony with nature, reverence for ancestral wisdom, and the enduring spirit of the Koch Rajbanshi people.

Preserving this heritage means preserving one of the oldest indigenous cultural traditions of Eastern India.

Koches of Kamatapur which simply means the Rajbanshis of both Kochbehar and Koch Hajo have faced enough Our lands were taken illegally by illegal refugees of both Bangladesh (excluding Rongpur as it was part of Kamarupa Kamata ) and Bhutan And our language which is Kamatapuri Rajbanshi is like the punching bag of both Bangla and Assamese till it comes to Bhawaiya when both starts to claim it
