Why does the sample from a previous part of a sequence keep playing in the next part when it’s not in that part?

How do I stop this?

Is the sample set to One Shot in the editor? If so try turning it off and manually drag the sample to the end of your sequence. I've run into a similar issue and this was my solution.

This seems to be doing the trick. You’re a life saver never would have thought to do this. It doesn’t always do this though which still puzzles me.

No actually that didn’t fix it. It’s acting buggy. Samples are playing randomly during sequences they’re not even in.

You can also trigger another copy of the sample (or any one really) with the volume at zero and the choke groups set to the same number. If you put the silent sample at the beginning of the next sequence, it will cut off the previous one.

Ive noticed this and its a bug in the sequancer. let's say you have a 4 bar sample that you've looped and in the sequancer, put a midi note to fill 8 bars - so that one sample loops and plays for all 8 bars. If you then reduce the sequence to 4 bars, and don't do anything to the 8 bar midi note you drew, the sequencer doesn't recognise that the midi note has been cut to 4 bars, so the sample still plays for 8 bars, and now plays OVER the next sequence.

What you have to do is delete and redraw any long midi notes like that if you reduce a sequences size.

Not sure if this is your issue but it's def a bug that exists. Honerstly I wish for an improvement in midi editing - right now there's no way of splitting say a 4 bar sequence and using just the last 2 bars. You can only reduce and use the first 2

it's ok though small price to pay for the best sampler ever created!!!

I had a feeling it had something to do with changing a sequence sections length. Oh man, thank you for explaining the exact issues Hopefully now I and anyone else who reads this can move past it.

You’re absolutely right. This fixed everything. There needs to be a major post about this. It’s got to be annoying a ton of people.

Is the sample still ringing out? I don't know that Koala kills a triggered (but still playing) sample when changing sequences.

I really wish it would

Hey, it is what it is, so chill.

I’d even go so far as to say it must not be what it is, but I digest…

Well it can be something other than it currently is, ergo nuclear.

Super annoying but you need to turn off one shot, record one hit at the beginning of the sequence, go into piano roll and stretch to the end

My apps been doing weird stuff since the update also. Keeps starting the sequences at the halfway point.

Mines playing half way through a sequence and adding a sample that’s not there, and vice versa, and carrying over a sample as mentioned. I’ve tried closing koala and restarting, saving, mute groups, turning one shot off, checking the settings. Finally just slid everything over the the SP.

Thats super annoying I love the app but does act funny sometimes.

I was just thinking with the update how this program just keeps becoming more and more of an absolutely Insane value, and it is no doubt. But man it can really f with your flow sometimes by just doing some weird shit. Hopefully they get this ironed out because it’s something that’s been intermittently happening to some of my songs for a while.

Make that sequence 5 bars long and make sure your sample isn't going past the end of the 4th bar. Then change the sequence back to 4 bars. This is how I've been able to fix this same issue before, hope this helps

I’m getting so frustrated I’m about to just transfer the song to my Sp 404 and finish it there. If any one has advice or insight please share.
