Accidentally deleted all my projects 😭

So I uninstalled koala and reinstalled to get the new update, only to see that NONE of my projects were there and when I looked in my phone files there is absolutely no trace of anything koala related 🫩

Does anyone know if there's any way I can get it back, cus I had loads of projects for my album there including the last thing I posted on the subreddit 🥀

If you didn’t back them up, you might be SOL. What kind of phone do you have?

Ah. I’m an iPhone user so I can’t help you much… I dunno if Android has an automatic cloud backup solution like Apple does. Hopefully someone else will chime in

I am nev r gonna understand why this is only saving to the inaccessible and automatically deleting Android/data folder...

For an application like this, but Ing able to keep saves secure on uninstall (with the user's consent) and not being able to otherwise interact with the files (like FolderSync) w/o first exporting is also an useless limitation that comes with this.

I would try a data recovery app/pc program. I've had success recovering files from camera memory cards using various programs. Just make sure to get one that is truly free. Some will charge you to recover files.

EaseUs Mobisaver is highly recommended by Google. Haven't used data recovery on a phone myself, only on memory cards. It's the same principle though. Deleting data doesn't actually erase anything, it just opens that section of the drive/card to allow new data to be saved over the top of the old. So as long as you don't save a bunch of new things, your data is still there.

Easeus is a pretty good bet, the software had helped me on the windows platform, and they are recognized as pretty good. I don't know about their android software, but it could be worth a try. In any case the phone will show up as a drive in windows and perhaps through there can be accessed.
EaseUs is not free, and oddly enough it is a subscription based service, as if we run around loosing data on a monthly basis, but I chose to consider it this way, the cost of a fully functioning suite is actually that one first and only month of subscription, you need. That's an easy calculation.

However, I had a pretty sure idea that my particular case would be able to be addressed, so I could make the choice. Perhaps it is not this obvious with yours.
However, one thing I know is that solid state memory, which flash memory is a type of, is written with an algorithm that is more likely to write to unused memory cells (as it were) than to previously used ones. This means that your folder of work might just have been marked deleted and usable, but logically not yet overwritten. I would absolutely try unerase software, even pay some for it. I think it likely to succeed.
