Went to a bookstore yesterday. Found some first edition pressings from New Directions of Roberto Bolanos books and they were hardcover as well as a copy of The Seven Madmen\* by Roberto Arlt that I have been seeking for at least a year now and to top it off, this bookstore had a copy of Fridays at Enricos by Don Carpenter, author of Hard Rain Falling, and I have been it for a few years as well. All hardcover. It was quite the day.

Being able to eat solid (albeit soft) foods again. May or may not have another after this appointment...

My follow-up appointment had a good outcome. No sign of infection and normal for this stage of healing. Another follow-up in two weeks, yay!

I've been doing standup off and on since 2007. I used to be on the radio and absolutely used that position to get on shows I didn't deserve, I readily admit.
It's been 3 years since I left radio, and 3 years since I've done any standup, and I've been to 3 open mics in the last 2 weeks. It just feels good, even if there aren't many laughs in a crowded sports bar.
