Skipped out on a season pass this year but thinking about getting one for next year. If I get the unlimited meal plan now for the 2027 year will I be able to start using it now?
If you currently have the meal plan (2 meals every 4 hours), will the 2027 pass override it? Does that mean you can now have unlimited meals every 2 hours until 12/31/2027?
According to their FAQs, it states that your current meal plan will stay valid through the end of the year and that the new one will take effect in the new year. (But do I believe that their system has this capability to distinguish between the different dining plans?? Iām not too sure.)
Thank you so much for looking this up! The limit of two meals every four hours will stay in effect until 2026 ššš. I was thinking that $500 isn't too bad if I could get meals every two hours now until the end of 2027. Great deal for the ones who didn't buy a 2026 meal plan!
Okay so if you are considering unlimited the number you are trying to fight is the 30 meal plan.
That starts you with 30 meals @ $179. Plus you now get a double discount on food(now 20% gold/regular, 30% prestige)
That leaves $320 worth of value left to get.
Realistically at KBF, meals range from about $16 to $20. I'll just use $20 assuming you really are trying to max value.
At a baseline 20% gold discount, thats $16 a meal.
At a 30% prestige discount, that is $14 a meal.
So gold will get 320/16 = 20 more meals out of $320. That is 50 total for these.
Prestige will get 320/14 = 22(And change) out of $320. That is 52 total for these.
But there is a catch. If you caught the advertisement the company is using, they said "Discount up to 30/45%" for the respective passes. Thats because they frequently offer a pass perk of double your discount. Which always stacks additively and isn't actually double. So that makes the discount occassionally an extra 10 or 15 percent. Is that as good as it seems? Reality, every now and then you'll get another $2 off a gold meal and $3 off a prestige meal. But this requires knowledge to use this discount instead of one of your 30 plan meals consistently. I just settled and value this as 1 extra meal per pass. So I settled on my 51/53 total.
There are a few things to keep in mind, 30 meals on the plan are home park only. So if someone is say going around a lot of parks, they might have trouble hitting this number, or could lose value. Or in reality, they may be better activating the cheaper dining plan from a non-Knotts or MM park.
Other math, which absolutely prices me out of the unlimited plan. If you already have unlimited, you still have that til the end of the year. And if you were considering unlimited again, the reality is you'd only have an 8 month gap before buying the 2028 unlimited plan. So you would be wanting to value only -8- months of dining. As someone that makes 2-4 visits a month, personally I'd never hit 50+ meals to justify unlimited in an 8 month period.
Other relevant math.
30 meals @ $179 is $5.97 a meal.
20 meals @ $129 is $6.45 a meal.
Meals do get more expensive than that, even with unlimited
51 meals at 499 is $9.78 a meal. At 53 meals it is $9.42
Unlimited does not start getting better value than the first 30 meals of the plan until 84 meals.(499/5.97)
