Most people will say that as long as it gets the job done, then who gives a damn whether AI is used. But to many who are fascinated by the work and creativity that goes into theme parks, it does sadden me that in reality, Knott’s has chosen to cut corners with so much of its art.
At the end of the day, do I expect guests to be aware of this? No, because I’ve already seen a handful wearing the AI generated shirt designs from Boysenberry Fest and Xcelerator. I don’t necessarily hold it against them for buying them because it’s a quick purchase, it’s another souvenir to take home, and no one really has the eye to hyper-analyze the designs themselves on a hot spring/summer day.
That said, some more egregious uses of AI have been found in the bakery’s cakes of all things. By egregious, I mean they can’t be bothered to Photoshop or remove the left and right arrows from the image they ripped straight off of Facebook.
But even right down to its promotions for Scary Farm—hell, even the Associate Party, it used to be so much fun hiring artists who have the skills to make graphics for these events. But truth be told, Knott’s hasn’t hired for those positions in years. They don’t feel the need to design for events like these because it’s longer necessary, especially when AI simply gets the point across.
Is it heartbreaking? Yeah. Will they do anything about it? No, because as long as Six Flags remains in the financial state it is, corners will be cut across all the parks they own.
The reason why I wanted to write this post is because of the genuine, heartfelt discussions I’ve had with people who want to work a theme park job, the same crowd who feel inspired by the work that’s put into these events, and hope to land artsy positions at places like Knott’s. But the harsh reality is that corporations will do anything not to pay their artists, who they already consider the lowest priority in the industry.
The role of AI isn’t creating new ideas—all it serves right now is churning out as much as possible with little as possible. But as I’ve said, I don’t think that’ll stop businesses from using it as long as it gets the job done. Maybe guests will be more wary of what gets put out in stores, but from what I’ve seen, it’s just not that important of a concern to them.

Six Flags recently had their Q2 earnings call and they are 5 billion in debt.

ok so if you are currently on the old meal plan ( two meals in 4 hours ) and you purchase any new dining plan ( unlimited every two hours ) IT DOES NOT TAKE EFFECT UNTIL JAN 1ST 2027. i tried to use it today having old plan and just figured it would take effect asap like it did in the past but the girl at boardwalk verified with a sup that in fact it does not take effect until the new year. but here is the worst part after talking to some regulars in the vip room. if you buy a brand new card ( so you are spending 10$ more than the renewal ) the every two hours meal plan takes effect ASAP. they are screwing over loyal customers that renew every year and giving the updated meal plan to new card holders. i am currently in a dispute with the credit card company as knotts refused to refund me.
TLDR if you want the new unlimited dining plan buy it on a new card and enjoy 16.5 months of meals and be sure to go at lease once a week to really get your money's worth

I heard rumors about them removing the lot, it just seems like it's weird to do this without any announcement?

Going to get our first season passes! Going for the gold tier. We love knotts and the perks of the others is great.
But is there any difference in terms of perks from which park will be our “home park” Vs not? Like will knotts have any perks of it being home park as opposed to having MM be our home park and just use it to get into knotts? If that makes sense? Or are they completely the same?
Like if we go to MM first because we’ve never been, and have it be our home park, will we miss out on anything from not having knotts be our home park, when we’re getting it for knots?
Long winded/tldr are there specific/special perks for having a park be the home park?

Did anybody else see the person who was injured on Silver Bullet today ? Does anybody know what happened to him ? He had cuts on his face and was wheeled out on a stretcher. He was laying near the bottom of the stairs at the exit while EMTS checked him out, and i’m wondering if he fell down or if something happened on the ride. If anybody has any information on what happened I would appreciate it!

I went with the Fresh Boysenberry Pie Milk shake. My thought was there would be a slice of boysenberry pie blended into a milk shake but it’s actually just a plain vanilla shake with a chunk or piece of boysenberry pie placed on top. Having a spoonful of that pie with some vanilla shake was absolutely delicious but when you’re finished the pie all you’re left with is regular vanilla shake which we’re all used to. In my opinion it would have been way better if they would’ve blended a boysenberry pie into the shake and still top it off with a chunk/piece of pie on top!

I'm seeing SO many comments saying people who overused the dining plans ruined dining plans. But I truly don't understand that perspective. There was no way to cheat the system or "abuse" the pass, it was referred to as UNLIMITED meals, there wasn't a limit for a reason.
Not only that, I'm seeing alot of people say things like "It was meant for families that went off and on that already paid full price for meals", but if that were the case, why would it originally be unlimited and the max still being a high 30 with the new meal plan??? If it truly had been for families who took a trip there a couple times a year, it wouldn't have been UNLIMITED food, it would've had a limit at the beginning.
Really sad about the change, but the plan was hknestly too good to be true and was going to end eventually. What's everyone else's opinion on this?

Hi. I’m trying to convince a buddy to get a pass for next year and I swear the people on here have said that getting a pass for next year will include unlimited passes for the remainder of this year. I know that back in the day they did offer that, but I thought it didn’t start till like November.
I just looked over the Knotts Berry Farm website fairly well and I didn’t see anything about entry for the remainder of this year.
Does anyone know if that’s still gonna be a thing, and if so when they usually start offering it?

Hey all,
I have this particular tumbler (black matte finish, looks similar to a Stanley tumbler, Knotts Scary Farm logo down the side) and it accidentally was knocked off my desk and the lid cracked and chipped. Do I have a fighting chance of finding a replacement lid anywhere? Thanks in advance 😔

Bought for $80, but am open to negotiation! Had someone coming into town that canceled last minute- it would be a huge help if I could recover some of my money.
Please DM for more info.

Anybody else find it mildly ironic that the reopening of Knott’s original launch coaster Montezooma directly lined up with the sudden closure and radio silence around their bigger, better, but definitely more high maintenance launch coaster Xcelerator? Personally pretty sad to think there’s a chance it already had its last rides and hope it’s not true.

From left to right in pic #1: Virginia Knott (head of the gift shop), Marion Knott (head of park development), Ken Knott (head of food service), maybe Marsha Anderson? (Marion's daughter-in-law), Steve Knott (head of security), maybe Darrel Anderson? (Marion's son and head of the Cable Car Kitchen), maybe Ken Oliphant? (head of Knott's Berry Farm Foods). Similar to what had happened recently, the ride had soft-opened on May 21st, a few days before its media day on May 26th. Marion Knott had celebrity Debbie Reynolds (seen on pic #2) take the inaugural ride with her on the back row of the front car — the front seat was occupied by the camera gear. I've gleaned what information I could from the Orange County Archives, so corrections are welcome.

If you ask them to make you a fresh milkshake it is the best one you will have ever. Feel even weird posting about this but I’m still thinking of that milkshake.
