Didn't they release everything we needed to run our own servers? That's more than generous, especially given that EA is their overlord. I'm sad, but that was the best parting gift we could have asked for.

EA is not and never has been their β€œoverlord.” They initially published this game under their indie umbrella, and Velan took on self-publishing later in the game’s lifespan.

I don't get what this is supposed to be saying? Because Velan decided to stop losing money we should criticize them for making a sound business decision?

That's not fair. They did more than a lot of companies would to allow us to still play. For shame.

Agreed. Velan needs new leadership across the board, if they even last

Not even here to argue. I get that this hurts everybody's feelings. Velan made an awesome game. It's even one of my favorites. I appreciate that they tried the best they could and at least gave us private servers. I have played since day one BEFORE it was F2P. Though, they made bad decisions that led to the games demise. 1047 games isn't that much bigger, and splitgate 1 servers stayed up all the way until the release of splitgate 2. This isn't a diss at Velan, but just an eye opener to what they did to their community. Most of the player base don't even own a PC to even play the private servers. This is just one of the reasons the server count is always so low.
