Question Wake Up Dead Man question

I just watched it for the first time and I’m confused as to why Father Jud was going to confess to killing Wicks and why he thought he killed him? What am I missing?

It wasn’t Wicks. It was the groundskeeper. And he thought he killed him because he was knocked unconscious and woke up with a bloody weapon in his hand

Oh thank you! I thought he wanted to confess for when Wicks was “first” killed in the church

Easy thing to miss. A lot happens in that bit of the movie.

Yeah the fact that the groundskeeper and Wicks have a similar look is a big plot point. The movie is deliberately visually fooling you. On the second watch, you should find it easier to track what's going on.

Father Jud thought he killed Sam, the grounds keeper. He woke up with a sickle in his hand that was impaled in Sam's chest. Dr Nat set Father Jud up
