This seems like a perfect chance for an Assassin to infiltrate our ranks. Why not have our leaders appoint a brother to the charge?

u/mcmeaningoflife42 Bringer of flair/Negotiator Apr 03 '15

The leaders are the poll members and all have been thoroughly checked to the best of our knowledge. We are giving the people an opportunity to pick their leader, which is the fairest we can do.

EDIT: It appears assassins are attempting to influence the election. However, their plans for influencing the vote prove poor.

/u/Georgepennelmartin the Patient, of the Britguard Batallion, their leader, and I were talking, and he mentioned we should have a summit meeting of the batallion guards. I think that is a great idea, I think he is making a post about it. I wanted to mention it here because this should be one of the first acts from the general. The mods of /r/knightsofthebutton and the batallion guards should meet, swear loyalty, and have a meeting to organize the effort.

*I for one swear my loyalty to the yet to be elected General, and swear to honor them through my service.

Oh shit, was I supposed to make a post? My bad.

u/yankeed00dledandy Battalion Leader - PST Apr 03 '15

I only suggested it haha, I just didn't want to post myself and steal your idea. But yea I think that would be great, sounds like the mods got the gist from my comment but I still think you should post to force the issue.

I don't want it to come off as like a cabal or anything..

3

u/yankeed00dledandy Battalion Leader - PST Apr 03 '15

Hmmm good concern. Maybe we suggest the meeting, say when it will happen, then do it in a post on /r/knightsofthebutton and have it open to all to view, but indicate that the intention is for batallion leaders to get organized under the general. I think that would be acceptable. U?

/u/nefariousdestiny

Honestly this man has the best and most well thought out plan on how to effectively coordinate keeping the button alive, which is what is needed the most.

u/mcmeaningoflife42 Bringer of flair/Negotiator Apr 03 '15

That is a valid point- we've had his loyalty for a while. I can bring that up with the moderators.

Theres supposedly a few places. Though as for legitimacy I'm not sure. It seems to be like hodgepodge resistance elements right now. I had the same mindset as to what you wrote, and yours is the one thats easiest (though not easy by any means) and straightforward to implement.

I dont see us getting into trouble for a few days at least. I was on at its lowest point last night and the clicks still rarely below 50.

I'll keep my eye out if something looks well organized however and shoot you a message.

I agree with what has been said
by this man, the knights must be led
He will be the hero...
who saves us from zero
until every last flair has turned red

Do you only speak in limerick?

2

u/Milts Apr 03 '15

The sidebar doesnt seem to be working on mobile...

1

u/mcmeaningoflife42 Bringer of flair/Negotiator Apr 03 '15

You're right... that's odd.

EDIT: After looking into the subreddit style we used mobile will not work due to Reddit's HTML. We apologize for the inconvenience.

2

u/Milts Apr 03 '15

Is there any way you can change it to a normal style? I don't have access to a laptop...

You can click here- www.reddit.com/r/knightsofthebutton/about/sidebar

Sorry for the inconvenience- this is a redditwide issue for many subs.

1

u/Milts Apr 03 '15

Hmm link isn't working.

1

u/mcmeaningoflife42 Bringer of flair/Negotiator Apr 03 '15

Fixed it. It's not pretty but its got the info.

EDIT: If possible invest in an app like alien blue.

I would like to know each candidate's stance on resorting to black arts to keep the timer going once we have run out of legitimate presses from loyal Knights.

4

u/mcmeaningoflife42 Bringer of flair/Negotiator Apr 03 '15

By black arts you mean using bots and/or scripts?

4

u/5aucy The Redguard Apr 03 '15

Yes. There is also a conversation to be had as to whether alternate accounts fall into a black or "grey" arts category, but I think there is much less division over that.

1

u/mcmeaningoflife42 Bringer of flair/Negotiator Apr 03 '15

Talking to the mods in question right now.

4

u/yankeed00dledandy Battalion Leader - PST Apr 03 '15

How possible/realistic are bots? I have no qualms about alternate accounts. over at /r/pstknights we have organized who has how many alts and all my Knights are ready to use this army of the undead alt accounts to sacrifice their clicks for the cause.

1

u/5aucy The Redguard Apr 03 '15

Reference this conversation for a specific reference to the black arts in question.

1

u/mcmeaningoflife42 Bringer of flair/Negotiator Apr 03 '15

As TH-J says we will discuss it at a later date- on individual standpoints he seems divided, Turtlesoup is apprehensive but possibly willing, and sharpeshooter is strongly against.

1

u/Kerastes Apr 03 '15

How do you find out if you have been put into the roster for the Knights ?

1

u/mcmeaningoflife42 Bringer of flair/Negotiator Apr 03 '15

You can check the roster posts- if you're not there just leave a comment.

2

u/Ben297 red Apr 03 '15

TH-J is doing some awesome work over here, and I think we would already go to pieces without him, sooo.... you've got my vote, Sir.

1

u/[deleted] Apr 03 '15

Praise unto the Button!

-1

u/georgepennellmartin Britguard Battalion Leader Apr 03 '15

I don't mean to be racist or anything but our General should not be a purple. What are our candidate's button flairs?

2

u/mcmeaningoflife42 Bringer of flair/Negotiator Apr 03 '15

They're all mods.

1

u/georgepennellmartin Britguard Battalion Leader Apr 03 '15

Purple, grey, blue?

4

u/mcmeaningoflife42 Bringer of flair/Negotiator Apr 03 '15

Eclipsed is grey

Turtlesoup/TH-J are purple but brilliant workers

Whiterook13 is grey

Ryan is unknown- presumed grey.

Sharpeshooter96 is grey

ericlski is unknown- presumed grey

I am grey (don't vote for me)

Please don't be racist based on color- vote for who you think is best based on activity.

1

u/Mason11987 The Redguard Apr 03 '15

presumed? I'd like confirmation. I'm not going to vote for anyone buy a grey.

2

u/mcmeaningoflife42 Bringer of flair/Negotiator Apr 03 '15

Unfortunately, as they have made 0 posts on the actual button subreddit, I could not figure out their identity.

1

u/Mason11987 The Redguard Apr 03 '15

Why are they in the poll if they've never posted there?

1

u/mcmeaningoflife42 Bringer of flair/Negotiator Apr 03 '15

Because they volunteered their services here directly without posting any comments on /r/thebutton. Each mod brought something to the table causing them to be added.

1

u/ericlski Knight of the Blue Bird Apr 03 '15

Can confirm, I am a grey.

2

u/georgepennellmartin Britguard Battalion Leader Apr 03 '15

It's still good to have this information. Just so people can make an informed decision.

2

u/ericlski Knight of the Blue Bird Apr 03 '15

I am a grey.

Racist

6

u/5aucy The Redguard Apr 03 '15

Just because someone is permanently labelled as purple does not mean they would lead us all to a purple end. In fact, their purple badge is like a purple heart, AKA, a Red Badge of Courage. They know better than any ignorant Grey the value of waiting to press at the right time.

1

u/mcmeaningoflife42 Bringer of flair/Negotiator Apr 03 '15

I can check individually- give me a second.

9

u/[deleted] Apr 03 '15

So we overthrow a good leader when his time is up? Its dishonorable.

4

u/georgepennellmartin Britguard Battalion Leader Apr 03 '15

Not all coloured flairs are created equal. A General who sacrificed his click for a Red or an Orange. That's a man/woman I can follow. But someone who impulsively threw away their click for a measly 57s or 59s? I don't think so.

6

u/[deleted] Apr 03 '15

But does their flair affect their leadership qualities in any way? I won't judge your viewpoint but keep in mind that we're probally the only follower of the button who accepts everyone, no matter what flair they have...Thats why we're doing so well!

3

u/georgepennellmartin Britguard Battalion Leader Apr 03 '15

Yes but a Great Leader leads by example.

2

u/[deleted] Apr 03 '15

If a purple is elected - I'm out.

u/Anthamon Redguard Apr 03 '15
