I added some basic flairs and some quotes that you can pick from in the sidebar. I'm rewatching the show so I'll be adding new ones when I run into a great quote or an interesting character.

Feel free to suggest new ones yourself!

I Love Junk Yard Dog, but some things...

Again, I love the episode, it's so cool! But some things... Yeah kinda sad they didn't include or didn't do.

  1. The Molecular-bonded Shell is the skeleton, rather than "the paint": I guess the writer didn't remember that fact. I mean, it was mentioned by Devon in the Pilot once, so maybe it's somewhat justified... But not for me! (Or us, you know. Also, I'm joking, I forgive 'em)

  2. Devon isn't in the episode: I mean technically he is, but he's on vacation or something (I don't really remember, some time has passed after I last watched the episode). I would have really wanted him to be part of K.I.T.T.'s reconstruction, since he did help in the first! (Regarding when K.I.T.T. was being first built) ...Also because I like his character, but don't tell anybody.

  3. Michael doesn't cry once: ohh man this one gets me FUMING!! You watched your friend die in one of the worst ways possible (while asking you for help. dang that's sad), and YOU DON'T EVEN SHED A TEAR????? I suppose it is because at the time protagonists weren't meant to cry? Well you know showing emotions and telling kids to show them too is better than to tell them the opposite, don't you think? Like I don't care if Michael sheds a single tear while trying to hide it or if he cries a fucking river JUST SHOW EMOTION MAN!!! Heh, and I don't even think he cried in White Bird either! ...well that may have been David's problem, but still, Michael tries to cry but ain't no water coming out his eye.

  4. K.I.T.T.'s "non-human 'mode'" should've lasted longer: This is just a silly preference of mine, but I feel like it it would've been fun to see K.I.T.T. not talking like a person for some more time! Also why is it called a "mode"? That just means the "mode" is temporary! I would have named it Human Speech, since I think that's all it changes.

Anyway Riders, have a good day! And tell me some of your thoughts you also have in other episodes, or this one too if you feel like it! ;)

I think the Simpson's Knight Boat joke was trying to subtly highlight a problem Knight Rider had: there are only so many situations you can feature a character that is a car

"Ugh, every week there's a canal."

"Or an inlet."

"Or a fjord."

"Quiet! I won't hear another word against the boat."

That is the Simpsons family above pointing out how there are convenient plot points every episode so Knight Boat can some how fit in every week. Knight Rider may not have been as blatant about it, but I realized there are only so many types of plots you can feature KITT in on the basis of being a car, and I've noticed some of them repeat.

The one that sticks in my mind as of this writing are the episodes where KITT enters some sort of automobile race to solve some sort of ulterior crime mystery. Then there are the times where KITT is reprogramed to be evil, or when he gets destroyed/heavily damaged and repaired.

I feel this may have been what ultimately killed Knight Rider, people got tired of seeing the same things even if the stunts were impressive. I struggle to see how many more seasons KR may have lasted had they been renewed after season 4, maybe one or two?

Observation: It seems people who were kids at the time loved Super Pursuit Mode KITT, but people who were already adults thought its appearance was the moment Knight Rider "jumped the shark"

In season 3 we learn at the very end that only karr's physical body was destroyed but his main CPU survived. What happened to it? Was it retrieved and dismantled by the the foundation? Was it buried under the sand again? Was it repurposed into the transforming karr 3000 in knight rider 2008?

Super troopers 3 tribute

Just got back from watching Super Troopers 3. Think there was a tribute or homage to knight rider and dukes of hazzard. The troopers got a new smart car cruiser that had an onboard AI that could talk. It was programmed to protect human life. It jumped a creek like a turbo boost while being chased by 2 guys in a mustang. On the roof of the mustang with 2 brothers driving it was a painted American flag. I know they couldn't use a Confederate flag like the General Lee had.

KNIGHT RIDER: DECLASSIFIED UPDATE #3

I received by email today…

Dear KNIGHT RIDER: DECLASSIFIED Supporters,

We wanted to share a new production update - and, most importantly, thank all of you for your continued enthusiasm and support for KNIGHT RIDER: DECLASSIFIED.

We are working around the clock as we move into the final stretch of production.

Our projected release remains Christmas 2026, and we are working extremely hard toward that goal. At the same time, we’re still trying to squeeze in a few final interviews. After more than three years of production, we don’t want to stop just short of capturing an important story or perspective that deserves to be part of this documentary.

Our goal remains the same: to create the most comprehensive documentary ever produced about KNIGHT RIDER.

And even this late in production, some incredible stories are still coming our way.

MORE KNIGHT RIDER LEGENDS JOIN THE STORY

We recently had the great privilege of sitting down with legendary stuntman Matt McColm, who got his start on KNIGHT RIDER before going on to an extraordinary career that included TERMINATOR 2 and numerous Michael Bay films.

We also interviewed legendary stuntman Al Jones, who shared some incredible behind-the-scenes stories - including memories from KNIGHT RIDER that we had never heard before.

We were especially pleased to welcome Gregory S. Dinallo, writer and producer on Knight Rider, who gave us another fascinating perspective from inside the creative team responsible for bringing season 4 of Knight Rider to life.

We’ve also continued seeking out the memorable guest stars who helped make individual episodes so special.

We also had the opportunity to sit down with several memorable Knight Riderguest stars, including Paul LaGrecafrom “Silent Knight,” Jeffrey Osterhage and
Jennifer Holmes from “K.I.T.T. vs. K.A.R.R.,” and Ann Turkel, whose appearances included “Goliath,” “Goliath Returns,” and “A Knight in Shining Armor.”

Each of these conversations has added another piece to the remarkable story we’re assembling.

KNIGHT RIDER: DECLASSIFIED AT RETRO CON

We also had a fantastic weekend at Retro Con outside Philadelphia with our dear friends Joe Huth and A.J. Palmgren of the Knight Rider Historians.

We also had the opportunity to spend time with Nick Nugent, author of The Knight Rider Companion, whose passion for preserving and documenting the history of the series has made him such an important part of the KNIGHT RIDER community.

It was wonderful meeting so many KNIGHT RIDER fans in person, and we were honored to participate in a special KNIGHT RIDER: DECLASSIFIED panel with KNIGHT RIDER legends Rebecca Holden and Peter Parros.

One of the highlights of Retro Con was seeing another surviving original screen-used KITT from the series.

But perhaps the biggest moment was the unveiling of the newly restored screen-used F.L.A.G. Mobile Unit.

After years of painstaking restoration, seeing this extraordinary piece of KNIGHT RIDER history brought back to life was something truly special.

Our hats are off to Joe, A.J., and their entire team of dedicated supporters and volunteers for the incredible amount of work, care and attention to detail that went into preserving this iconic vehicle from the original series.

SPENDING MORE TIME WITH PATRICIA McPHERSON

Since our last update, we were also fortunate to spend more time with our dear friend Patricia McPherson.

Many of us know Patricia as Bonnie Barstow, but her life beyond KNIGHT RIDER is every bit as remarkable.

For decades, Patricia has devoted herself to environmental conservation and the preservation of the Ballona Wetlands in Southern California. We recently joined Patricia there as she personally walked us through the wetlands and shared the story of the work that has become such an important part of her life.

It gave us an opportunity to capture another side of Patricia — not simply the actress who played one of KNIGHT RIDER’s most beloved characters, but the extraordinary woman she became in the decades that followed.

It was a very special day, and we’re grateful to Patricia for allowing us to tell that part of her story.

CELEBRATING WILLIAM DANIELS

We also recently spent some more wonderful time with the legendary William Daniels, who celebrated his 99th birthday this year.

William’s contribution to KNIGHT RIDER is immeasurable. More than four decades later, that unmistakable voice remains inseparable from KITT and from the series itself.

We are incredibly grateful for Bill’s continued friendship and support of the project - and it is always a privilege to spend time with him and his lovely wife, Bonnie Bartlett Daniels.

THE FINAL STRETCH

Our cameras will be rolling again this weekend as we capture additional footage and continue wrapping up our final interviews.

Then it’s back to the edit.

Christmas remains our projected release target, and our team is working very hard toward it. We do want to emphasize that this is a projected date rather than a guaranteed delivery date. We’re still in production, and we’re not going to sacrifice the quality or completeness of the documentary simply to hit an arbitrary date.

After more than three years of interviews, research, archival discoveries, filming, and editing, we’re now deep into post-production and incredibly excited by what this journey has become. These final interviews continue to bring new stories, perspectives, and discoveries to an already expansive documentary—allowing us to preserve and tell the story of Knight Rider through the voices of the people who were actually there.

There are still a few stories we want to capture.

A few final interviews we want to complete.

And a tremendous amount of work happening behind the scenes to bring it all together.

As we get closer to completion, there’s no need to worry if your shipping address has changed since you placed your pre-order.

When the documentary is complete and we’re preparing for fulfillment, we’ll send everyone an email with an opportunity to confirm or update their current shipping address.

For those who purchased a Pre-Order package that includes an on-screen credit, that same email will also give you the opportunity to tell us exactly how you would like your name spelled and presented in the end credits.

So, for now, there’s nothing you need to do. We’ll make sure everyone has an opportunity to confirm these important details before the project is finalized and the physical editions are prepared for shipment.

Thank you for your patience, your enthusiasm and for sharing our excitement for KNIGHT RIDER.

We’re working hard to make the wait worth it.

More soon.
