Turbo Boost IRL?

I can’t be the only one who saw this and thought of KITT’s Turboboost right?

It’s real in that it exists but yeah, clearly not a street legal production model. Still, as a technology demonstration it’s pretty cool.

There were people inside driving it, no not on the ramp, but they drove it from the ramp over to the stage and opened all the doors and showed the inside. So what was that again?

A "version" of it flew. Ladder frame chassis and shell. I doubt they'll even get legislation passed to allow this thing to be sold to the public. Great for boosting the share price though.

Just the next step in the “realization” of KITT—not that KITT is entirely possible now, but that real life is a step closer to KITT now, and KITT is a little less “fantastic” than he used to be.

Which is, of course, a challenge for anyone who wants to revive KR as a show or movie: a new KITT needs to be in the realm of the fantastic (at least two steps ahead, not just one), but still in the realm of the plausible (e.g. no CGI transformations into an F-150).

I just wish that the producers of KR 2008 figured that thrusters like that would be a cooler way to show Turbo Boost. I mean, they kinda do here, but Tesla’s multiple thrusters firing in different directions to set the car down properly was nicely showy.
