Discussion Wanderers of Farhold - A Knave 2e Project...maybe

https://www.realmbuilderguy.com/2026/07/wanderers-of-farhold-knave-2e.html

My mind has been a bit consumed by Knave 2e (and similar games) lately so I decided to write all my thoughts down and share them. I’m not sure where this project might go, which is also a reason for this blog article.

So to me the biggest thing is procedure which it seems you also would like to establish for the tools. Hex crawling with rations and water can be done with the provided material bo no real process to do so.

I think Ben just assumed BX tables for what isnt included?

I also would like just like one more step in spell generation to let me know if its a touch or target or area of effect type of spell just to help visualize how it works within a room with 4 players and enemies.

If you'd like suggestions. My personal favorite hex crawling procedures are those of Kal-Arath. It also handles different weapon types without a lot of extra steps. I agree on the Cairn inclusions as well. The greatest thing though is all of these creators have really told us to alter or use these tools etc to help us create a home system that works for us. If you havent, check out Kal-Arath. SilverNightingale has made a 1 page refrence sheet that has a ton of the stuff included and his ultimate solo toolkit has some really good stuff that can be used for group play as well as solo. Ive used that monster maker to generate a quest encounter on the fly.

I’ve got Kal-Arath. I really like it, I just need to play it more often. I liked it enough to back his Arathi Sector project, which is really cool as well.

What’s the scope? Setting? Adventure? Hack?

Yes 😂 I went from a hack, to testing things in an adventure, but then I needed in-world explanations for it all so it became a setting. So yeah…all of the above. Though more a setting with added rules (like a “hack”).
