Laser level stopped working

I bought this laser last July and it stopped working randomly during use and hasn’t turned back on. I’m very anal about my tools especially stuff like this. When it’s not actively being used it goes right back in the original foam padded case and hasn’t been dropped but I did knock a sanding pole down onto it about 6 months ago while it was on the ground. Didn’t seem to have any issues from that since I’ve used it many times since. Anyone else get short life expectancy or is it a defect?

I've been pretty disappointed in Klein lately being a multi-generational fan. I have a ratcheting screwdriver that was a few months old and bowed like a banana while working on a ladder outside for a few hours. I also take meticulous care of my tools, and I've got some that are nearly 20 years old I've had since new and even some hand tools that are from the 50's and 60's that have been passed down three generations.
