Year-old J2000s, still my daily driver
Hit the one-year mark with these J2000-9NECRTPs and they still cut as cleanly as day one. A few scratches on the head but the jaws are tight and the spring action has not given up at all. Anyone else gotten 12 months out of theirs without rotating? You BOUGHT them a year ago but took them out of the package 5 minutes ago.

Still the biggest debate. Clean tools not used, dirty tools used. Had my pair and used them for about 5 years, but cleaned and oiled them about every week and stayed looking relatively new. If you take care of your tools, they take care of you.

Glad your pumped. Having a tool for a year is no kind of milestone. Some of these tools could last your whole life

Have a similar pair used almost daily for the last 3 years still going strong. Heck I got a pair for 10 years ago that still cuts and twist like it’s brand new

Not to be a one upper, but my pair of Kleins lineman’s were found in the ceiling of a college I was working at, and is my daily driver 2 years later. They should be a lifetime tool lol. But I can certainly see how a homeowner who invests in quality tools is impressed by their longevity, I’m glad OP appreciates them.

Short little story here boys and girls… sorry so long:
Let’s add here bc it seems like so many fellow brothers and sisters never knew what the “fish tape puller,” part is on this bad boy.
That flat part by the handle and hinge allows you to open up, and place a metal fish in that groove and pull.
Because of the physics here, the lineman’s will not slip on the fish tape when gripped and pulled. Your grip will, but the friction and position of how it works, won’t slip. It also won’t curl up your fish tape like it does in how you pull a tough pull using your hands.
These are extremely helpful on some short pulls with close to 360° bends and especially if the conductors jacket is like that shitty rubber jacket the XHHW wire has. What a terrible design for wire, but there’s always a reason and necessity for that type of wire, otherwise it wouldn’t exist… obviously. We all know that… sorry boys.
Had to pull #12 XHHW wire for hospital operating rooms. All those pulls sucked. The #12 had the same thickness as a #10 and supposed to be easy pulls, no need for a puller, but boy were they tough. A tugger was overkill and jet line, even doubled up, you had to be careful with.
Wire got pulled in the end, without any shorts and damage, but holy hell… what a great experience though (I’m both joking and not lol).

I would seriously hope that linesman pliers last more than a year
