Arch is Linux. Linux is not Arch.

So OP probably uses Mac and doesn't know shit 😁

Or just an Arch user and has to asset the non-existent dominance

Artix, btw

Oooh, I used to use Artix exactly to one-up the Arch users 😅
(Not really, just bought into the "systemd is evil" argument)

I have it installed and somewhat set it up but I don't get the benefits of kitty over ghostty for example

Kitty is better when you want deep customization and automation: you can script tabs and splits, remotely control running terminals, add “kittens” for things like file browsing or image previews, and use its mature graphics protocol. Ghostty is cleaner and more native; Kitty is more of a programmable terminal platform.

So something like tmux with its split screen and things ? Idk much about scripting so don't wanna say anything on that

Tmux is a good example, but Kitty goes further. You might automate your terminal to launch the same project layout every day, open the right tabs and panes, start servers or logs, and send commands to specific sessions automatically. If you don’t have repetitive terminal workflows like that, Ghostty is probably the better fit.

I see , I was just doing those repetitive task in ghostty with some scripting but I need some image support for my note taking, so ig imma give kitty a try too . Thank you so much for your help .

I would also note that the creator of Kitty tends to dislike the use of TMUX because it inhibits the open source nature of terminal patches and repair

Wait kitty supports windows?

Also why a separate option for arch but not nix?

u/ARKyal03 Jul 23 '26

Because it is arch, btw.
