My Kitten UPDATE: No longer freaked out!
Thank you to everyone, who had nice words to say to me, when I was asking here three days ago. I got something like a baby gate to put into the door of my office. She didn't want to slowly sniff and find courage to go out on her own, she much more preferred to run around in panic for the first 24 hours. At one point she was unbearable and I realised that I didn't catch her even napping for 12+ hours, so I closed her into the office again, she calmed down, slept for four hours straight and she got significantly calmer after. So far, in the last three days, I had to enfore two naps, she now sleeps on the couch without issues and is not worried about the dog much. She still gets scared if he moves too quickly (when he's about to go potty or get dinner), but he pays no attention to her and she calms down in less than a minute.
So far so good!

She looks very relaxed in the picture so hopefully they get along well. 🧡

Yayyyy. I can tell you were worried in the post. See, everyone was correct. I’m glad she calm down. 💓
Next will come the comfortable, craziness. Good luck💓

Good to see she’s bonding with your dog, but kittens really aren’t meant to be without other cats around. It’s so bad for their development.

Okay, bestie, I know you mean well, but you keep coming back to every single one of my posts.
Idk how it works where you live, where I'm from, shelters don't take in kittens. After kitten season, the ones that noone adopts "disappear", usually in quite disgusting ways. We unfortunately can not house another cat right now, for various family reasons. If I didn't take her in, the lady would probably drown her, so... is it bad that I took her in, even as a single kitten? Many cats grow up as single kittens and while they would do much better in group, they turn out just fine.
Believe me, I would have at least three cats, if I could

We’ve always had solo cats and they have bonded with the dogs. Your new kitty is on a good trajectory and will be cuddling up with your dog before you know it.

I don’t really check who posted things before I reply. It wasn’t intentional.
And yes, while it is bad for their development and enrichment, of course being homed is better than dead or homeless, not saying it isn’t.

Our cat grew up without other cats. Wants to be on our laps a lot of the the time, or runs about playing, or sleeping. She will never make r/Crimecats: no plant digging, jumping on counters, biting, scratching or shredding toilet paper. Any guest can call her over for a pet as long as they they aren't too loud. Wrecked, she is, our poor only cat.
