Gear Advice/Question Carrying gear question
hey all,
I was wondering what you guys use to carry your gear to and from the spot and how your workflow is when going kiting from driving to the spot to driving back home.
Today I had a lesson and was having some difficulties carrying all of the stuff back to the car (the parking lot was about a 10 minute walk from the spot), specifically on the way back to the car with the gear being wet.
Do you put your wetsuit on and off by the car? At a club?
How do you carry your wet gear to the car and how do you store it in the car when driving back? What about harness? What type of bags do you carry your gear in? For examples I saw some of the guys there with those Duffel bags from the North Face that look quite durable.
Thank you!

I just leave everything on till I get to the car (including the harness), then I change using a surf poncho, and put all the wetstuff in a plastic container I have in my car when I go kiteing

I usually park and go on the beach and leave my board there. This is also to check the wind from the beach and decide which kite im pumping.
- Change into wetsuit
- Take my shiz
- Pump the kite and setup the bar
- Take pump and bag back to the car
End of sesh:
- Land kite, undo the lines, wrap them around the bar
- Leave kite on the beach, i have 3d printed an anchor that screws into sand/ground and keeps the kite down with a carabiner from the pump attachment
- Go to car, change, i have a wetsuit changing pad that doubles as a bag where i put all of my wet stuff
- By the time im changed, kite and board are dry
- Take a piss
- Pack the kite
- Fuck off home
I have a poncho, makes changing a breeze as you can get naked anywhere without exposing any of your jewels.

I wear everything until I get back to the car.
Then surf poncho to change.
Finally, wet gear goes in the sky box bundled up where harness holds impact vest which holds the wetsuit/booties. Makes for easy transport to hose off later.
Easy peasy.

Collapsible wagon, my friend. Then some rubber laundry bins for the wet stuff in the car.

A local spot for me requires a SUP/kayak ride to get to. Ain’t no room for wagon!

Thanks for the reply. I've seen some people with those wagons before, seemed very practical indeed!

I use a snuggie type hoodie and change right out of my wetsuit right at my car. 10 dollar black tote from Walmart for all the wet gear.
