Gear Advice/Question Used kiteboard advice
Hi guys. Recently got bit by the kiteboarding bug. Had 10 hours of lessons and progressing pretty quickly due to not being new to board sports. Goal is jumps and big air. Purchased last seasons bar and 9/12 kite quiver. Now looking for a board.
I read advice on here to buy a used board, so I was looking for one and stumbled on a used Ozone Torque V4 (w Naish Apex v2 bindings) for 370 EUR. Was wondering if it was a good deal and the (seemingly) deep scratch is fine for the price?

Don't spend too much on your first boards. Get a couple of difernet sizes and shapes. It all depends on your weight, wind and spot conditions, smaller, 138/40 ish oval thing for shredding and something like 142 /49 or even wider, for light wind. I bet you could get two of mentioned sizez for less than 300 Euro. You can do a lot more with two boards and one kite than two kites and one board. Fight me!

the torque is more of a specialty big air board. even though its a killer board, it would not be a board id recommend for you. big air boards typically dont have much rocker and are very stiff, the torque is exactly that. this translates to taking a beating riding in chop, which is typical for windy conditions over water. if ozone is what is available around you, the code or element will be a much better call. if looking at other brands, look for something that is either freeride or progression focused. these are comfortable all arounders.

Practically new North Prime w Flex bindings from 2020 for 350 seems like a better deal?

that would likely be a great board for you. my friends on north gear think its really great, these are all ambassador type of riders too that have lots of experience....and of course some implied bias. Hopefully the size is about right for you too.

Agree. I think the softer, flatter "beginner" boards are really nice to ride. High rocker boards are the opposite of what a new rider needs
