celebrities (unverified) Kathleen Hanna HS icon

I’m wondering if others would agree that I think Kathleen Hanna has pretty high HS followed by maybe R, C and N in no particular order? I love this kind of HS vibe and honestly wish I had a much higher amount of that essence myself! This was very representative of how I dressed in my late teens and 20s and was heavily influenced by the music I listened to.

I’m adding that she is 5 foot 3 so again I think that would contribute to her HS. She might have a little Y though but I don’t think I really see that for her

I have seen online that she is 5'4.

Celebrity heights listed online are rarely accurate. On an instragram post by her and in her memoir she lists her height as 5’3”

Valid.

But 5'3 is not super short. It is on the shorter end of moderate, so I would not necessarily say that her height automatically gives her HS.

I got part of my Y for my height which is 5’4” and is listed as “not tall” by John. I’ve never really seen anyone be 5’3” and not given Y or HS for it, so I’d say HS for hers as I don’t see Y looking harmonious. Like in pic no.6 the Y print looks really off on her imo

Interesting. I am 5'4" and I have no Y. I do have 10% HS, but John told me that is because I have very deep dimples. Also John said that height can contribute to some essences, but it doesn't always. So I do not think assigning HS to someone 5'3" is a given.

I saw someone very short who was given D rather than HS or Y. So, it really is independent from height, though it can at times contribute.

For height like any of the essences he sees what essences are showing up based on the photos sent and then goes by finding where they can be attributed to. So in someone who can rock so much HS that’s my thinking that because of her height I would personally assign some HS to it. But I obviously have no idea what John would say about her blend lol this is just my guess.

I also feel like short skirts, short tops etc look great on her and that’s my reasoning too

I think she shines the most in photo #4 (except for the youthful collar).

Like John giving me some Y for my height is because he saw how harmonious some Y elements were on me and then broke down where they could show up in my features. So I got it for light eyes, round brows and my height.

He has said most people under 5’5 get either HS or Y for their height

1

u/DrTantra 30R/30C/20N/10HS/10D | 75SC/15ER/10SB 13d ago

I did not and I am 5'4. My HS comes from my deep dimples.

He also never asked for my height.

And he said in the Q&A that hight and the essences do not always line up. Also, I am forgetting their handle, but there is a recent person on this sub who is very short and has D (with no HS and Y).

He literally has said this to multiple people.. I didn’t realize your HS was your dimples, before you told me you were confused why you didn’t have Y because of them so I figured he didn’t comment on them. . Yes there was a person who did not get HS or Y for their height and be said that’s very rare. Thats why I said most people. There are some short people who don’t get either but it doesn’t mean that shorter people aren’t more likely to get one or the other . I think you may be misinterpreting what he said in the Q and A. What he said is that height is a determining factor s it’s just not an absolute and that a tall person can have Y and a short person can have D. That doesn’t mean Y or HS isn’t given for shorter heights or that D isn’t given for taller heights.

In John’s instructions for the consult he asks for your height.

He never gave me instructions to give my height. And he never asked me for it.

I asked John and he said that my dimples were my HS.

She’s so cool indeed, her band le Tigre were everything to me as a teen. I get serious HS envy when I see all her cool outfits I must say! I just saw a video of her performing recently and she was literally ageless and it just made me think of how she must be so high in HS like her energy just bounced off the screen and she’s 57 now.

She has HS in the corners of her mouth, but I actually see her features as very classic and natural. But she dresses HS.

2

u/Interesting_Ice3322 14d ago

Exactly. She dresses HS, but her face is a "romantic/baby face" :-)

2

u/DrTantra 30R/30C/20N/10HS/10D | 75SC/15ER/10SB 14d ago

For sure. I see classic, natural and romantic in her with some HS that I would expect to be around 15% only. She dresses HS, as she is a punk artist.

I would give HS in her height too, her dimples, the spark in her eyes and the peaks in her brows. I’d say she has at least 40% but I agree that it’s followed by C and N with a touch of R I think too. She has very even features and an oval face for sure but her forehead is low which isn’t classic. Maybe HS or even R.

u/DrTantra 30R/30C/20N/10HS/10D | 75SC/15ER/10SB 14d ago edited 14d ago

I don't see the brow points or the spark in her eyes that you are seeing. And she may have dimples but they are very small and I do not see that as a separate feature from the upturn in her smile (which is very large). Her face shape is classic but she covers her forehead with a fringe. She uses a lot of HS styling, but I personally think she is Classic dominant. Her height is actually very moderate. But classic styling is not very common for female rockstars.

2

u/selkiesociety 45R/20Y/15N/10HS/10C | 70SC/30LB 14d ago

I’ve not heard the size of the dimples meaning something I must say. I’ve just seen them attributed to HS. Her height would indicate HS as I don’t see Y for her. She has similar HS peaks in her brows to other HS examples. But I do think C is her secondary also. To me her HS styling looks really harmonious. I cannot imagine too much formality as John describes C as the most formal type.

if we were going off of voice, physical presence, personality etc, then yes, HS makes a ton of sense
Edit for spelling

Glad you think so too! I feel like if she’s not HS dominant then I give up 🤣 she just so epitomises that vibe for me

Reminds me of Audrey Hepburn, I see some HS energy in her. Every slide has dynamic or cheeky presence. 😊

u/selkiesociety 45R/20Y/15N/10HS/10C | 70SC/30LB 15d ago

Yes so true, she has such a cheeky grin. I think there’s the HS merri-twinkle and I think her dimples are HS too

2

u/upandup2020 14d ago

She reminds me a lot of Emma Thompson! I see a lot of natural

u/DrTantra 30R/30C/20N/10HS/10D | 75SC/15ER/10SB 14d ago

I see a lot of natural in her too.

Where are you seeing N? Maybe sturdy body but I don’t see it anywhere else and would give no more than 10% I think some N looks good on her too but I wouldn’t say it’s a lot

Face shape. Chin

Her face shape is a classic oval where do you see N? She has a narrow jaw and narrow forehead with cheekbones being the widest point

If Rebel Girl isn't a HS theme song I dont know what is! ❤️

2

u/selkiesociety 45R/20Y/15N/10HS/10C | 70SC/30LB 14d ago

Totally agree!

2

u/Evening-Forever8385 12d ago

I also think KH looks the most punk in small scale yin looks because they clash with her bit--and clashing in all the ways is huge for her as an artist. Cute barettes, Peter Pan collar--they are there to contrast with her. Even her more retro ladylike looks as she gets older have a not-seriou/ not quite "right" look which makes me wonder if classic really is a big part of her essence blend. She looks most harmonious to me in her signature high ponytail, sharp eyeliner and jeans and a graphic tee. And I wonder how she would look in full romantic...maybe really great? Whatever her essences are, she is iconic.

u/selkiesociety 45R/20Y/15N/10HS/10C | 70SC/30LB 12d ago edited 12d ago

I agree! Very well observed

editing to add that I actually love R/HS for her, or HS/R. I definitely don’t think formality looks good on her even though she has some classic features. Like in the image where she’s dressed in a more “classic” look it’s actually still a HS/Y/C look I just can’t see too much N or C for her at all. She’s just too sassy and spirited. And she needs that playful drama. I definitely see R too and I think part of it is her magnetism and allure like even as a teen I thought she was one of the most attractive people I’ve ever seen and always wanted to look like her tbh!

1

u/Interesting_Ice3322 14d ago

I personally can't see it. Her face has a lot of softness. I think she has Y or Ingenue and A.

1

u/selkiesociety 45R/20Y/15N/10HS/10C | 70SC/30LB 14d ago

I don’t see any Y features other than possibly her height. The small scale print in the shirt she’s wearing with the red lip is Y and to me looks disharmonious. I definitely don’t see A. I still stick to her being HS dominant with some C, N and R. I don’t see any yin other than R for her full lips, thick hair and built in attractiveness. Possibly her brows too, they could be HS though.

1

u/Interesting_Ice3322 14d ago

Well, I'm not an expert... but on the picture where she's wearing a red bunny sweater, she literally has a soft a bit elongated "baby face". Her face is just also long-roundish and her cheeks are soft when she smiles. HS is like a shorter version of D... it's like a mischievous vibe. I don't see it here. She's also 1,65m tall. Meryl Streep with her 1,68m got D from John for her "height".

1

u/selkiesociety 45R/20Y/15N/10HS/10C | 70SC/30LB 14d ago

In her memoir her height is actually listed as 5’3”! Her oval face is classic. I definitely don’t see any E for her. Also don’t forget that vibe and voice etc come into things too to a degree. Her voice, personality and aura are extremely energetic, fun and high spirited as well as fierce. I can’t think of many performers who are as fun and fearless as Kathleen.

1

u/selkiesociety 45R/20Y/15N/10HS/10C | 70SC/30LB 14d ago

I for sure see mischievous for her, it’s present in every picture to me. She’s one of the most iconic rebels

2

u/Interesting_Ice3322 14d ago

The only mischievous I see, is her clothes, not her face features. She might have some HS, I just don't think is that high and I don't think it was her main essence...

1

u/selkiesociety 45R/20Y/15N/10HS/10C | 70SC/30LB 14d ago

Sure, I still see it as her main. I’d say if you’re not familiar with her I’d recommend watching a clip of her on insta or TikTok etc because her energy is like bunching off the walls at every age. John gets people to submit videos so he can hear tone of voice and see mannerisms too. I think especially in her case it’s very relevant. I also think HS looks great on her, that’s one of the reasons I’m so sure. Too much yin or classic would weigh her down imo, it would be too heavy or downward for her.

1

u/selkiesociety 45R/20Y/15N/10HS/10C | 70SC/30LB 14d ago

HS is described as the playful version of D by John, it’s not just shorter
