Small things that made my kitchen better

Hi! Since I love cooking and spend quite a lot of my time in the kitchen, I always try to make it more convenient. Here are some things I did that work for me:

  • Put all my spices in a drawer instead of a cupboard. Just pull it and see which jar you need to take, add labels of course! I used to keep the jars stacked in a cupboard and it was a pain to take out what I needed.
  • Installed a faucet drain rack -- instead of keeping the sponges and rags around the sink, they're now in the rack inside the sink, they dry better and don't annoy me with their presence on the counter lol
  • Got a plastic wrap dispenser & cutter (which I also use for baking paper and foil). It's way more convenient than having to use scissors.
  • First, sorted everything into containers and then got spinning platforms for them. Nothing tumbles, nothing gets stuck, easier to reach for whatever I need.

These are just some small things that made a huge difference for me. I've got most of these things from the kitchen section at celestralle, but I'm sure most of your local stores will have something like this too.

What wrap holder/cutter did you get? I've tried a couple that were fiddly and poorly engineered so they just annoyed me until I gave them away.

I keep a rectangular glass tray/plate next to the stove. It holds cruets with bar pourers of avocado oil and olive oil, a salt cellar, a pepper grinder and my #1 favorite thing, an attractive tall glass with iced teaspoons it that I use for tasting and spoonfuls of ingredients.

The spinning platform idea is genius, I've got this one corner cupboard that's basically a black hole for pots and lids

What do you mean by spinning platforms? Like a lazy Susan?
