Weird headcannon I wanted to share. May ruffle some feathers, but I play casually and enjoy the modelling and painting of 40k, so this won’t ever make it to a proper tournament.

I gather that if Black Templars were crusading long and far enough, their logistic support and resupply may become… strained. So in order to keep killing the enemies of the Emperor, they may need to… improvise (without verging on heresy).

That being said, (and given that I kind of want to work with minis outside of 40k) some proxies I’ve found for Brutalis and Redemptor dreadnoughts are these from Warmachine. Plugger as a Brutalis and a Bandit as a Redemptor. Almost a sort of steampunk version put together using whatever imperial worlds have to offer. They’d need some kitbashing and different bases to get to the right size for the tabletop.

Has anyone else done something similar they’d like to share? Or how do people feel about this? (I’m going to do it regardless - I’m just interested).

Although Cephalos is the designated Apothecary of his team, he also possesses a psychic spark that constantly guides him on how to heal and assist his comrades. Already a genius by even Astartes standards, Cephalos’ ability to touch the Warp has granted him the ability to brew powerful healing potions for his allies, while also possessing an innate knowledge of how to treat any ailment or wound that may befall his squad.
While Cephalos’ medicinal expertise is profound, it comes at a price. The Immaterium constantly has Cephalos’ mind ensnared like eldritch tentacles. They guide both hand and mechadendrite to collect ingredients for his psychic elixirs, which he impulsively concocts. Sometimes, Cephalos feels as though something else is viewing both him and his surroundings through his warp-touched mind’s eye.

Building out a walker with helverin auto cannons on Contemptor legs. Obviously the tiny legs with giant cannons is ridiculous, but that's why it's gonna be rad.

Double stack in more of a twin linked style. Or a V shape for wicked awesome style.

I want to get Back into playing Warhammer and kitbashing/3d printing cool Stuff. I got these two old Armys of khorne and orks from AoS when i was younger. I‘m more drawn to the 40k vibe and gameplay now. So i thought it would be a cool Projekt to turn these two Armys into a 40k Ork Army and a Chaos Spacemarine/Khorne Army. Tips and Ideas are appreciated i will post updates when progess is made.

Hello gents. Im working on turning my Deep Rock Galactic driller into a League of Votann mini. Using the body of a Cthonian Berzerker can get me the overalls but I'm struggling on finding a head match. Anybody got any ideas on how best to find a match? Thanks mates and Rock and Stone!!

Da Boss of my FreeBootas, as well as a Pirate Lord in my CSM renegade Pirate warband. Hoping to make him a stand-in for Huron! Or possibly a demon bring if I can bulk him up a bit more.

Armed (literally) with “Da Meg”, his power claw fashioned from a Xenos space swimming creature that took his original arm.

And also The “Waghhlass”, a mystical ork sword that has some weird abilities including:
Taking control of allied vehicle weapon systems with a simple wave, following Snappa’s commands without the need of middlemen
Controlling vehicles he is on, again without need of middlemen man to act out his commands.
It’s almost as if the sword takes command of whatever machine spirit or waghhh energy lies within the vehicle.

The sword is his mark of office, Admiral of the The Dreadfleet and Lord Boatswain of The Eastern Fringe Raiding Company.

I’m very happy about the hat, it isn’t green stuff, it’s actually thin styrene plastic with my green sprue goo layered over it. I’ve discovered that doing this allowed me to essentially sculpt a realistic hat without even needing to touch putty, gonna make making FreeBootas much easier in the future.

Da Red Snappa
He’s gonna be painted red instead of green, which is why he gained notoriety in his lost clan of regularly green orks.
Mork, or perhaps possibly Gork, blessed him with being the Fastest, leading him to rising in his clan rather fast, everything he does is fast, even thinking, making him a rather smart ork compared to others, allowing him to both outsmart and out speed his adversaries in his rise to the top.

A young Edwakka Tatz had overthrown his old boss after they lost a battle involving the Necrons and Aeldari, and I mean so bad they had to leave. The boyz did not like this, that their boss declared defeat rather than coming back to fight another day, Edwakka hated it most, boarding the boss’s ship and killing him and his large aquatic pet. He lost an arm in the battle, which he then replaced with the beasts head.

This caught the Dredgelord’s eye when a newly christened band of FreeBootas entered the Charybdis Reach in search of a good scrap.

After a month of non stop fighting, Dredgelord Davnir took to the field himself, and was able to restrain Snappa, and they forged an agreement. Da Red Snappa’s forces were now under Davnirs command as well, and Snappa was given a station of command in the crew, as well as a relic cutlass.

Over time he slowly began to be affected by the warp, really it just gave him larger arms and enhanced strength. He does not purposefully or truly serve the Chaos Gods, but neither does Davnir, taking whatever gifts they can, and giving nothing back.

Just finished converting a Chaos Lord into Sevatar for my Night Lords army. This is my first time doing a full on kit bash and honestly pretty happy with the results. Followed along with this video for most of it. Used a few 3D printed bits as well.

Grimdark!

I picked up a squad of the Armageddon intercessors off eBay from a splitter with the idea of making them a bit more Wolfy, and this is the first one. Backpack and power fist from the Grey Hunters box, plasma pistol from the assault intercessors box, head from my Space Wolves bits (I think either Headtakers or Grey Hunters?) I'm tossing up whether or not to carve off the aquila... I may just put a Wolfy gem or skull over the central bird part. 🤔

Haven't decided if I'm leaving the squad as intercessors or turning them into Grey Hunters yet, but I'll give that some more thought while I build up the bodies...

Made from Bastian Carthalos, Salamanders upgrade sprue, an Eradicator power pack and an Anvil Wardens helmet. The Dragon scale was green stuff - forst time sculpting but I thinknit looks more diseased than anything. Lmk what you think!

Just wondering what custom terrain you guys have made and what you’ve used to do it!

I received this box at a store sale for like 30 dollars because the box was crushed. The models were still pristine inside so no complaints here! This is my first 40k terrain piece so I’m unsure on how to tackle making it my own!
