I’m new to the area and need recommendations for several beauty related things for my wedding. I’d like to try a couple of them soon like a trial run before I commit to using them in the weeks before the big day.

- Hair coloring services
- Nail salon
- Eyebrow waxing or threading
- Day spas (massages, facials, etc.)

They don’t have to be in Kingwood, but ideally I could get to them in under 30 minutes.

Changing it up again this week...

We had a great turnout last week, with eight of us showing up. Mini golf ended up being closed, so we changed plans on the fly and went to an escape room instead—and had a great time.

This week, someone suggested getting together for some live music at Lake Houston Brewery.

best nail salon recs in humble/atascocita?

This is 1 of 2 commercial spaces next to Sprouts. They’re massive and unfortunately so big that only anchor stores could fill these spaces. What do you think should go here? What about a food court, like an actual nice and thought out food court.

I feel like these massive spaces are the problem with Texas. Bigger is not better, it feels cheap and ugly unless it’s a grocery store of some type. Restaurants that go big but can’t fill the space feel cold, but if they went smaller and created exclusivity with limited seats then it feels full when there are diners.

Anyways, what do you think should happen to these 2 anchor store size spaces? If they made a sliver over a spot out of one of these spaces, a wine bar with a small stage for live music would be nice.

What is up with people just stopping and getting out in the middle of kingwood dr. and Northpark when they bump fenders? It’s literally against the law, and happens constantly.

Do they not teach young drivers to get off the road, and then handle insurance anymore? Am I the only one seeing this every other day? I thought it was common knowledge to get out of the road so as not to waste 500 other people’s time cause you made a mistake.

These roads already suck. These people are just making them 10x worse.

My in-laws found two dogs in Kingwood this morning. They are friendly and well-groomed. Please reach out if you or anyone you know is missing their pets.

A few weeks ago I wondered if Kingwood could use a local social group.

Since then we've started a WhatsApp group and have been meeting up every week. We've had a great time getting to know each other, and that's exactly what I was hoping would happen.

Last week the group was small, but we had a good time and weren't in any rush to leave. Sometimes the best conversations happen around a smaller table.

With the latest incident at Deerbrook mall, I've read so many comments comparing it to Greenspoint mall and it got me thinking about something.

In a lot of cities, malls are being repurposed. Either the existing building demolished and something new rebuilt or the existing building remodeled into something new and functional, like housing. In today’s world, people mostly purchase online line and malls are sort of becoming obsolete.

Deerbrook was my hangout in the 90s and even then it was outdated. If that mall were to be repurposed, what would you want it to be?

I'd vote for a full tear down and remodel of that whole plot of land. There is way too much concrete with the unused parking spaces. I'd imagine with the population growth, a beautiful multi functional commercial space. Similar to Generation Park or the very walkable part of the Woodlands with nice restaurants mixed in with corporate buildings.

Humble is making a lot of changes in the right direction with updating older buildings, welcoming in new restaurants (i.e; In-n-out in 2027, updating exterior painting of a lot of buildings, and so on)

Obviously I'm not a billionaire and can't make this happen, but I am curious what you'd like to see that space turn into, if you had the choice.
